The city of JVL has over 60 thousand people and yet only 6 to 10 same people raise a stink about this skating rink every time. Why don't you 10 people leave and go to Madison where your taxes are twice as high and then maybe you will be satisfied. I for one am happy to give the opportunity to more kids and young adults that wants to skate more often but can't because there is no ice time available. Even the feeder program finds it hard to find time to bring up new kids that want to learn to skate and play hockey.

This may sound like a lot of money, but stop to think that the blood sucking lawyers will take a hefty chunk of that money leaving a very small amount for the child and family. Yes I am sure there was a lot of medical cost over the past 8 yrs, meaning even less money left over for the child.

JVL leisure service is holding their enchanted forest Saturday from 3 to 6 at Palmer park. The program is for kids 1 to 8 that will walk the path to various story land scenes. The high school drama club kids act out these scenes and will be handing out candy at each station. There is a small fee for kids and adults free. A nice safe way to take the young ones out for trick or treat. The kids can wear their customs to show them off.

When the boys baseball came to the council meeting requesting 1.5 million to expand there park at the sports complex, no one was at the council meeting complaining. It all took place less then 15 minutes and you folks just spent 1.5 million. However now they want to build a skating rink and the complainers are in high gear. What gives? Is baseball so much better for our kids then hockey? I do see where your priorities are, baseball and basketball. You folks spent 72 million for basketball and no one complained like this.
On Boys & Girls Club of Janesville continues to provide children a safe, positive place to go

When the club first started membership cost was $10.00. I still believe it is $10.00. Where else can families send their child to after school activities and summer programs for that little of money. Membership at the YMCA to have your kids in there programs cost over $400.00 a yr. The boys and girls club is a great program for all kids.

Isn't amazing how much utility work can get done in this city with stimulus money. And I don't have to hear the same tax payers bitching over and over how the city is taking them to the cleaners.

If he is riding in a Russian space ship I am sure he is paying his own way and none of your money is being spent on his joy ride. It's nice to have that kind of bucks to go for a pleasure ride.

Isn't it amazing how the same peanut gallery complainers are the same ones who complain if any money is spent to improve the city. The city spends hundreds of thousands dollars to improve roads, sewers and water but those stories don't hit the paper for good reason. The peanut gallery would have a field day with the spending the city does to keep quality life here in Janesville.

If you remember when the city and state had to build easy access road to GM for quick delivery. At the same time the airport created longer runways that could handle 757 cargo jets along with the tarmac dug down 15 feet and filled with concrete to hold all that heavy weight. Your tax dollars was spent wastefully but now Rock County has a class A airport that can handle anything that may come there way. The latest avionics was added to help bring planes in, in any kind of weather. What is a few more dollars spent to bring a building up to the 21st century. Hundreds of visitors fly in every week to eat at the resturant which the county collects gas and food tax. Yes people will come to a first class place such as Janesville.
