On BREAKING: Residents suing town of Milton over Traynor gravel pit permit

Posted on May 9 at 8:01 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

I live next to 3 pits and see very little dust in the air from these pits. The draw back I do see is the amount of truck traffic every day coming and going to the mine. maybe this mine will take some of this traffic off my road and that would please me. In the time I wrote this I saw 5 trucks passing by with loads.

On Membership numbers tumble at UAW Local 95

The only reason the plant is in standby is because it would cost multi millions to tear it down. GM was smart in saying, where keeping it in standby but will never do anything to bring it back. By keeping it closed the tax roll is at minimum and a lot cheaper paying that then clean up. Yes it was a big loss to JVL but the city must move on and work on finding other resources. JVL will never be as it was 10 to 15 yrs ago with economy booming. Young folks are moving on because they know by staying here it is a lost cause.

On Cuts unlikely to affect Interstate project

Posted on May 1 at 7:47 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

They started two days ago drilling test holes for county rd G which will be come a 4 lane road between Beloit and Janesville. It will also serve as a feeder road off the interstate when they began expanding. This road really needed to be expanded with 4 mining, 3 cement operations, Blacktec students, plus a corador for workers between jvl and Beloit. Right now I am afraid to take a left hand turn into my drive way as cars behind me does not want to stop and find out not enough room to get around me.During busy times I have counted over 20 movements per minute on this road past my house. Many times I have to wait over a minute just to cross to get onto the road from my driveway.

On FAA says furloughed air-traffic controllers returning to work

Posted on April 28 at 11:25 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

It blows ones mind that when 500 plus senators and congress get effected in delays, it only takes hours to come up with money for the FAA. Now if only we could find a way to effect these same people of milking our country with billions every yr. with all the perks, benefits and retirement they voted in for themselves. You and I will never see this from our employer so why should they. If someone has a answer to correct this let us know.
