On More parents forgo immunizations for children

Posted on January 10 at 10:22 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

I just love the people who are willing to put the lives of others at risk because they won't get their child vaccinated. Do you stop to consider what you're doing to the rest of the community? To babies who are too young to receive vaccines, and could die from exposure to certain diseases?

You're relying on herd immunity, and you're making it more likely that the rest of the community could be exposed to diseases that were wiped out at one time.

Being vaccinated isn't a guarantee that you won't get a disease if enough people spread it around and give it the chance to mutate! It's absolutely ridiculous to believe that vaccines are NOT meant to help society. Yes, there can be bad reactions to them, and it's a scary risk to take.. but what kind of parent choses the risk of spreading a terrible disease throughout the community instead?! That will really protect your child!

And as for the person who is complaining that PROTECTING your child with a vaccine is just too expensive. Wow, just wow..

mgcarguy-"Perhaps it is the general negative attitude in Janesville, Wisconsin." HAHAHAHA!! Oh that's rich, coming from the guy with TEN comments on one blog and almost all of them are bashing the blogger. Negative attitude? Unintentional irony at its best. Thanks for the laugh!

Too bad these special interest groups aren't more interested in what is actually a healthy diet! Read the actual SCIENCE instead of what passes for "science" and you might discover that the natural diet humans were intended to eat are meat, fat, and vegetabales. Not grains, flour, and sugar. Or fake "meat" foods that vegetarians eat.

Gary Taubes
Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades
Tom Naughton
Mark Sisson
Loren Cordain
Dr. William Davis

These are just a few of the people you should be looking to for dietary advice, as they have done the research and actually follow the SCIENCE (and not an agenda)!

On Legislation has done little to curb practice of payday lending

Sigma40, I applaud your comments! No one forces you to get a high interest rate loan but yourself! You know what the interest rate is going to be and what the payments are going to be before you sign the loan documents, so stop with the lame excuses.

Also, I laughed out loud at your comment, fromjanesville2waukesha!

On Which Super Bowl commercial was best?

Yeah, I actually really hated that Pepsi commercial where the wife was a terrible nag. No wonder the husband was checking out the jogger when his wife was so awful, and her acting like a child throwing the can at him for it? No, I wouldn't tolerate my husband checking out another woman that obviously, but then again I treat him well enough that he doesn't need to. And violence like that against a man or a woman is just never okay.

Considering that it isn't afternoon yet, you're jumping the gun a little on saying that the report is wrong, aren't you?! The first system was from 3PM Monday to 3PM Tuesday, and considering that is about 9:30AM Tuesday and we do have at least 4 inches, I guess that makes the report correct. The second system comes after that, so that means over night tonight we'll get the big snow. And, really, so what if we don't? Do you feel better about yourself when you talk about how wrong the weatherman is? It's the weather, it's not always the most predictable thing, be glad we live in a time where we can get at least an estimate of what's coming our way.

Okay, Sigma, truce? I agree that people can take things overboard, and I especially dislike people who turn an innocent mistake into an overblown ordeal by then tailgating and being just as dangerous as the offender. I do have to say though, you did not make a suggestion, you made a statement, and I very highly doubt that you weren’t suggesting I had several near misses, but I’ll go along with it if that’s what your story is going to be.

Really Sigma, being in “defense mode” is not good, and it’s considered road rage? So am I to understand that being a defensive driver is a bad thing? Or was that just poor word choice?

I didn’t say it was acceptable to drive around in a logic-scrambling rage! I said it’s not rude to get angry about a bad driver. Since you seem to have had some trouble with this the first time I’ll repost: “I will agree that in this instance, it sounds as though it was more of an uncertainty about who was supposed to go first, which is probably not something to get so worked up over.”

I don’t experience near misses often, and almost never when I’m the one behind the wheel, but congratulations on those legs of yours; they must be very strong to make such a large jump to conclusions. Just sayin.
