1,364 grams equals about 3 pounds ... there'll be some sweet smells wafting from Walworth County when the sheriff "burns" the stash!

Starbuck1,
Your comment is despicable, and shame on the Gazette for leaving it up for 7 hours and counting.

On Company making cancer-screening tool moves to Wis.

I thought that the know-it-alls on this site had declared time and time again that businesses don't come to Wisconsin, they only leave?

And, for those who think this is a one-shot deal, here's a link to another recent announcement about a company -- wait for it -- moving to Wisconsin from Illinois ...

On Favre family books rooms for Viking game

It's funny ... if Joe Six-Pack calls the same hotel (or any hotel within a 50-mile radius of Green Bay) and asks to reserve one room for the Vikings-Packers weekend, he will be told none are available. It's good to know those with money can still get a place to sleep.

On Janesville Jets unveiled as city's new hockey team

ChsMkr: Heed your own advice. The logo in question, along with several others, was featured in a Gazette sports story a few months back. Want to further your argument that this is a freelance job?

On Janesville Jets unveiled as city's new hockey team

Posted on June 5 at 2:38 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

From the official press release:
"The Janesville Jets logo was designed as part of a collaborative effort. The initial design was conceptualized by Tony DiNicola, a Janesville Gazette designer, and then graphically edited by Christy Kapellen, a senior graphic designer at Print Max in Milton."

So, in other words, the Gazette now has some sort of ties, financial or otherwise, to this team. That makes it hard to objectively cover the team's actions, both on and off the ice, doesn't it? What if, for example, the team defaults on a payment to the city for use of the ice arena, or if the team's general manager gets caught in a compromising situation, and team officials want to keep it out of the paper?

Not exactly the position I'd want to be in, Angus & Co.

On Cop changes could save city $40,000

Bobb, it's kind of like when the city manager took similar action a few months back. He reorganized city administrative positions to save $275,000, but all it got was a sidebar in the Gazette and no real discussion in the comments section.

It's funny how the people who always scream "THOSE ARE MY TAX DOLLARS AND SPENDING IS OUT OF CONTROL!" always conveniently overlook items like this.

On Drug dogs search Janesville schools

Hmmm ... I wonder if this is why I saw an inordinate number of vehicles parked on the streets surrounding Craig this morning. My guess is that the info got leaked, and all the "smart kids" did what they had to do.
