On Defaming Wisconsin, desecrating democracy

Posted on June 29 at 10:14 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Unions represent people, not profit. When a union contributes it is on the behalf of us regular workers, not our bosses. Get over it. Pay attention and listen to what is going on. Everyone should be upset by this. It's not about the unions or budget balancing. It is certainly not about democracy! The only ones profiting by any of this are huge corporations and businesses. Our elected officials are doing everything they can to tilt elections so they have an unfair advantage. Those defending what is going on in Madison need to look closer. Neither the left or right are right, we need people representing us that are able to see both sides and do what is best dispite their party afiliation.

On Email to Wis. gov. initially favored union rights

I'd like to know how many of these e-mails were from Wisconsin residents. I heard the majority were from out of state.

This is so much more than the union thing. Pay attention to all that is going on with this administration. You'll be upset too once this thing flies. It will affect you too, then you'll change your tune.

On Hands on Wisconsin: Generalissimo Walker!

Posted on February 27 at 10:57 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Collective bargaining doesn't mean the union goes in and gets whatever it wants. It means we work together and compromise. People seem to think that public employees are fat cats. Look at the raises the county and state have paid workers and it is usually around 1%. We are stuggling to pay our bills too. We are also tax payers.
Bringing more jobs to Wisconsin doesn't help if people can't live on the wages. The people wanting to crush the unions are big bussiness that wants to do what they want without anyone else having any say.
People please get the facts and understand what it is Mr. Walker is trying to do. It is more than busting unions. He is treatening the way of life for all. He doesn't want to answer to anyone. A good leader is open to compromise. Our democratic senators are and always have been willing to work with the gov., he is the one saying no. There are other ways to balance the budget.

On Do you applaud trail linking Milton, Janesville?

27 % of Wisconsin is obese, gas isn't cheap and our environment needs help. More people on bikes is a good thing. I passed three bikes going into Milton on John Paul at 5:30 last night. If these people are willing to risk their lives biking the roads, there are many more who would bike if there were a safer option.

On Wis Legislature passes bill to start fixing budget

With all the tax increases on pretty much everything, why is it there hasn't been an increase on beer and alcohol?? I read it's been forty years since the last tax change.
That would help reduce drunk driving and health costs.
Is it some sort of sacred cow in Wisco??

On Mercy is mum on cuts

Making a profit is fine, but be honest about it. Mercy is always spinning the non-profit angle, and working hard to get awards that make them look like they are in this for the people, not the money. If the elderly aren't the people, who are?
