ive been reading thru these comments i agree with alot of then there is the comments that just stupid. blame the parents, what are you even thinking? society has taken our rights away as parents, but when something bad happens, they want us to be held accountable. hard time for gun crime, sure, ive read where three felons were caught with guns, there wasnt even any jail time for them at all.they sent my 15 year old son to prison for probation revocation, and yet i read where these druggies and people get caught with guns are just slapped on the wrist just like these kids will be. violence does not breed violence. and putting blame on musicians, and video games is just a cop out.i also agree that if these so called gang bangers were taken to a big inner city where real gangs these pexsist, they would be crying for there themommies. what the police need to do is pick up these gang bangers, and dthe judges need to send them away, thensome of them might change there mind about there life styles. these people who want parents arrested, must have those perfect kids like wally and the beav,get real june and ward this is the real world not a tv show.

i cant believe what ive read, evansville housewife, you write as intelligent woman, but are you serious, the jdc is a country club for these kids, it isnst anything as bad as you are describing it. i have had the mis dealings of children who have been sent there they loved it fun and games and being told it was there parents fault they were troubled and sent there. between my two younger children they were probably sent there 37 times did it do any good? no, tell me how should they be treated? big screen tv, stereos,gourmet food,etc., some of these kids are hardcore, they would just as soon kick your teeth in than look at you. not all detention officers are good at what they do there, some even atagonize those kids, but a good 90 percent of them try very hard to help those kids, and all they get in return in negative feedback,you try doing there job for one shift, and let me know how it goes after the kid pisses on you or spits in your face. believe im the mother of two of the kids that spent quite a bit of their teenage years as the jdc guest

first of iam a smoker. i do not smoke in my house, in the car,i dont go to restaurants to smoke i go there to eat, so no problem there. ive stopped going to restaurants in the last couple of years due to the excessive perfumes and colognes people wear, it makes me sick to my stomach because some people pour it on. so instead of wining about it i dont go out to eat. i think it is rude to target overweight people, or drinkers such as ive been reading, by the im neither of. over weight people are hurting no one but themselves, so you should keep your snide remarks to yourself. as far as drinkers are concerned they should never drive so they dont hurt anyone. business owners who pay their taxes and have worked hard to have good businesses should not be run out of business,due to a statewide smoking ban. the ones who complain the most are the loud mouths who continually need to complain about something. i cant believe the turmoil our country is in and this is what you have to complain about. do as i do, if you dont want to be around the smoke avoid it or stay at home.

i can not believe this city actually allows homelessness! dont let the city of janesville fool you, they have plenty of money, a couple in the car with a child! are you serious! there is plenty of hud housing available, there are section 8 certificates available. they need to get off their seats and start helping these people, so they can help themselves, then after the help is given, if they dont attempt themselves, they should be where there at.

On Team wants shelter for homeless teens

i agree, there has got to be somewhere for these homeless kids to go. ive have never seen a town such as this one where parents just throw their kids out. some kids take off and the parents cant control them and their is alot of it in janesville. these kids need help, these our your children no matter what they do you are to help them, and believe me im talking from great experience, my two youngest children 17 and 15 must hold the record for getting into trouble. but to throw your child out because you just dont care anymore, and try to pond them off on their freinds parents,(sad)remember these are your children, not and old bag of rags you dont want anymore.
