factsplease...you are correct in 'they' being the school board. They had a listening session last night at Kennedy school, and talked about the possibility of still closing a school. Their final decision needs to be made September 27.

What these owners may want to research are the ingredients in their animal's food. I'll bet dollars to donuts that the main ingredient is corn. Just like what cows, pigs, and chickens are fed now to fatten them up.

How about we raise the cost of summer school enrollment? I'm not sure most of you realize, but it only costs $7 per child to go to 4 weeks of summer school. $7!! Now granted, some of the classes are extra, like pottery or cooking, but everything else is covered under the $7 fee, including swim class. And how much are we paying the summer school teachers? I cannot imagine that $7 per student is covering that cost!

badgerboy...I would be curious to know the legality of 14 Senators running away and not doing their job for almost a month! Or the legality of taxpayer dollars funding their little 'vacation'!!

Yes Browns76, it is fair for us as citizens to know what was said. It is also fair for us TAXPAYING citizens to know how the Democrats little 'vacation' in IL is being paid for! I have yet to see an answer to this question. I for one am going to be very ticked off to find out that they are hiding out on the taxpayers dime!!

Sandman, you bring up an excellent point. If people are reaping the benefits of a free meal then the least they could do is help fill others' bags. Habitat for Humanity runs under a similar idea...if you want a house then you need to help build one for someone else.
On Fee for parking at Walworth County Fairgrounds

Maybe the fair board should have considered charging for admission to the entertainment, instead of charging for parking. I would much rather pay to get into the concerts than to pay for parking every time I attend the fair. I am guessing that the entertainment is the largest portion of their cost anyway, so why not recoup that cost from the people who actually use it?

Why are we even looking at raises for anyone right now? Supposedly the district is in the hole 9 million already for next year. Where would this money come from? I understand that some of the people she is looking to give raises to are the doing the job of two people, but why can't we offer them a bonus, or other one-time incentive, instead of a raise??
