Thank you, teachers! You work hard and deserve your salaries! Shame on these lunatic authors of that garbage....and what cowards to not even put their name on it! There are people who appreciate teachers in this city! Please ignore the negative comments that I am sure will come from wislady, Donnaw, fed up, and other whiners!

On Politics not on agenda: Rock County 5.0 officials

Vataloco,
I do agree that there are SOME people that are not good employees, and they make unions look bad. HOWEVER, I believe that this is a very small percentage of people. The large percentage of hard-working union employees don't want these poor employees either. There are steps to take "weed out" the bad employees, but maybe that needs some editting....it is 2012 now.
This whole debate should be about CHANGING unions, not eliminating them.
Thank you for your response, vataloco.
Have a nice weekend! (...another thing to thank a union for!)

Vataloco: I would love to sit down and have a conversation with you about unions. I respect your posts, unlike wislady, donnaw, and others.
I want to know more about your hatred toward unions. There are A LOT of worker rights that are important...way more important than salaries. One example: one of my worker rights is that I can leave work at a certain time so I can pick up my children from daycare by a certain time. Without having that "worker right", my employer could decide that I have to work late or stay for a meeting anytime my boss choses. This is just one example that I thank my union for.
Cesar Chavez worked so hard for workers' rights...so that your parents would have fair working conditions in the hot Texas sun, as you say. This included forming unions.
What is wrong with workers having rights?

I DO understand that grant money is taxpayer money, but what you are complaining about doesn't make any sense.
If you have a complaint about state "grant" money, why are you also complaining about Janesville schools?
My point is, the money is there....Janesville schools don't make those decisions. However, Janesville schools COULD improve by getting the money! That seems like a no-brainer to me to try for the grant. Wait...no-brainer...I forgot who I am writing to...

ALLin & Sigma40----
Can you read?
This is state grant money. That means if they want ours schools to improve, they need to apply for these grants. If Janesville doesn't get the grant money, some other district in the state will.
Why MUST you be negative and BASH education ALL THE TIME???
