Something positive about the school board

Hey where is our "hope" & "change". Well I knew from the get go that the change Obama talked about was going to amount to the "change" in my pocket and my wallet empty...
On Janesville School Board OK’s hiring 3 teachers but not without a fight

After this major error I must say I have lost all faith and hope for the school board and I might add also the city council for Janesville. Spending is out of control regarding the city as well as the schools. The tax payer is the one that usually ends up on the wrong end of anything the school board and the city council puts their hand to... An old friend has passed away sometime back... I sure miss "commonsense"... He was good when he was around.

How much more can the citizens of this community pay out? The council and manager need to control spending. Water rates up, limiting the number of trash bags or pay an extra fee, build a parking ramp, build an ice area the list goes on.... Has the council and manager forgot the unemployment % in this town. In closing how much is spent on picking up the leaves in the gutters???

After reading this I'm glad GM did not get more of my tax money. When do we say enough is enough?
On Enrollment questions: Close a school? Lay off teachers?

With the talk of enrollement down & may drop even further, maybe the need of closing a building, reducing staffing, I feel at this time we should not look at expanding a charter program, or take on additional funding programs. Let's let the dust settle over the enrollement concern. Let's focus on the situation at hand, get a handle on it and then proceed forward after the 2010-2011 school year if expansion of programs is needed.

Sounds like a win win situation for two people. The real estate agent and the buyer. The agent gets the sales commission off the $96,000.00 The buyer has the city or should I say the citizens pay $412,000.00 for the improvemnets and then he can rent it out and make $$$ off the deal.
