On Does district's global outreach make sense?

Posted on February 18 at 1:34 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

We as people are losing the basics. So why should we reach farther when we cannot even get the basics? Our children have more than enough here at home to learn and grow, without over reaching and putting our future on thin ice with this god-awful 'global' thinking. Trade and cooperation between countries can still take place without this. We have pumped so much money into our schools and productivity has been level or declining in most reports. This is simply a feel-good thing for the ultra-progressive minded bureaucrats, who we should maybe think about replacing.

On Do you support dropping of Saturday mail delivery?

Posted on February 14 at 1:20 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Yes I do support this change. It is the direct result caused by cost vs. revenue. The demand of the postal worker's union to fire the Postmaster was loosely associated. The causes are listed in it's budget and the USPS had to adjust. Even if that is unfortunate to workers in the USPS, as it is evidently a necessity.

On Is “white privilege” a fair course topic?

Sandman...thank you and you are correct. Unfortunately people will view that radical or not open-minded until it is obvious, but then it is too late and lots of good Americans pay the price.

Besides if we want equality which really already exists much more than not....we should stop pointing out differences and propelling the separations. Really the subject of talking about inequality keeps it perpetual! In short, I think the class material referred to above is unnecessary. PC is a waste of American time. (all races and creed) All Americans need something to believe in again, and not these types of insistent subjects.

On Round and round over roundabouts

Posted on February 5 at 11:56 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Just like with the new garbage trucks and the sidewalks....they just push on the community whatever they want to regardless of what they demographic wants. Stop trying to be progressive. It is silly. Most people do not want these roundabouts. So be representative of their wishes for once!

On What do you make of ruling on Act 10?

Posted on January 25 at 1:14 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I was glad to stop paying union dues. I am willing to go on my own without that coverage completely if it comes it. I am only worried the surpluses created might get pillaged by other government spending later on. I don't mind paying a little more for the state, and I think unions keep everything unequal or at least unsustainable?

On State budget surplus bigger than expected

Vegas1...Give it time and also hope the EPA and other REAL affecting values, allow the business and employment to return to the state. If you despise business you will also be hurt by the lack of it. Employment will return to the state and improve over all unless other variables get in the way.

On State budget surplus bigger than expected

Sorry CJ but that is a typical liberal response, and I see very little proof of the help-the-wealthy rhetoric actually being true. Here's some of what you might consider typical right-wing rhetoric.....I am worried some bureaucrat, probably left-wing, will get a hold of that surplus number and argue it is because of 'their' policies (as if)...then try to SPEND it on some bull-crap social program, which only allows people to be wrongly conditioned to keep asking for hand outs anyway!
*
Point being-let's allow this to continue knocking down the state-debt, and allow it to lower taxes on all of us! I say good job to Scott Walker and the state GOP! Hold the (real) coarse....
*
I have been paying quite a bit more as a result of Act 10, and I am just fine with it because I respect the other workers in the state who had it worse than me all along.

Get all animals fixed! Adopt whenever you can and always try to give donations to these shelters.

On Janesville company serves worldwide need for helicopter parts

Posted on January 15 at 12:07 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Nice story. I hope the EPA doesn't come in a force them to shut down like so many other businesses in this nation....I would gladly work for that wage if I had too. Now if they could just make a few of their parts or another company around here made some of them, that would be good also.

On Janesville City Council referendums get a 'no'

Posted on January 15 at 11:59 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

saxcat is correct. Furthermore, we don't have street improvement, we don't have more protection.....but we have sidewalks being shoved down our throats! Add a sprinkle of new garbage trucks and containers that were not needed. Where are the priorities?
*
I agree with them in saying 'no more taxes' but...
