My aunt is currently the lefse maker in our family. For years she has been trying to get me to take it over but I think it scares me more than anything - what if it doesn't turn out? And with me in Wisconsin and she in Indiana, it's not like she can run over to help me out of a mess! Generations of Norskies would be clicking their tongues at a possibly wretched disaster I dared to call lefse!

I had to wade out into our street last week to clear the storm drain. Guilty, I live on the corner and rarely think to check it. I'll be doing that more often now!

No carnival but they will have helicopter rides according to an article I read. Doesn't make much sense to me..It will cost a hell of alot more for those helicoptor rides than it would be for carnival rides.

We typically use mushroom compost but heard that chicken poop is equally effective - though I am guessing it may not be cheaper. We paid $30 for a truckload of compost this year. We also use the mushroom compost in our flower beds, which is why we require almost 2 truckloads to cover the garden and the flowers..Do you til it in in the fall or in the spring or both? And can you buy it by the truckload?

I wonder how many layers of paint are actually on the rock? I wonder if someone at the high school takes a picture every time it gets painted? My daugher will be starting her freshman year next month. I should tell her to keep a photo album of every painting to see how many times it will change in the next 4 years!

It's an oxymoron, as I am hardly what it implies. Secondly, I, as a mother, would never take young kids to an event called Rock Around the Block, knowing full well it is organized by bar owners (no offense Matt) - and in a bar environment - kids area or not. To each their own. Some people have no problem getting into a vehicle with their kids after they have been drinking. I, for one, do not. But it's not my place to judge. All I was saying is that all anyone does it b*tch about everything that goes on in this town and then at the same time b*tches because there is nothing to do.
