On Police: Stranger likely a salesman

They weren't selling encyclopedias, but rather text books that targeted parents, so they are able to understand the new way that core classes are being taught today. I live in the Clover Lane neighborhood, and have seen a couple of these salesmen, and according to the police officer who took my statement this morning, the City of Janesville did give them permission to sell. Sounds like one department not talking to another to me!

There's been a couple of salesmen at our front door selling the "must have" study guide books, so I can understand how they teach my daughter. At any rate, the first matches this man's description and the second was an older man, both carrying black bags. Both salesman had photo id's from a company out of state. Also, heard on the News--Daily Buzz Channel 57--that one of their anchors had a similiar experience, ie., study guide salesman. Sounds like their canvassing a wide area, and I'm wondering if the kids were approached by a salesperson truly looking for their parents to pitch sales.

A police officer just stopped by to pick up the "missing" poster that was dropped off last night. They found her, thank goodness!!!

For anything of value?? Given these definitions, sounds like we have widespread prostitution as soon as someone seals the deal after a night of dinner and drinks!! Better think twice before picking up the tab :)
