On Democrats don't show up in Wis. Senate

These awol senators need to report for work and do what they were elected to do. If all legislators left the state when a vote was predicted to not go their way, this government would be in permanent shut down. It matters not whether they are Democrats or Republicans. They need to report for duty.

5 email accounts?? Why in the world would anyone need that many accounts? If I were you I would first start by eliminating some of those accounts. After that I would set aside set times that I check my email and make no exceptions. People should live their lives not wait for the next email to come to their inbox.

Sigma40, the city is very willing to remove the debris but have the red tape to go through because of KAB's appeal. How can she file an appeal when it isn't even her property?

Thanks for the clarification Greg. All these years that I have voted, I did not know this. I don't remember how I voted in previous years but I'm sure I didn't do it right and my ballot was probably null. I hope everyone reads your blog and gets it right.

I'm sorry for your loss. Drathaars are such adorable hunting dogs. My son has a male and those long whiskers and eyebrows are hilarious.
On Janesville schools consider cuts to sports

I agree with many of the comments here including that parents should pay something for their children to participate and be involved as a volunteer. However, some parents do not have the option to volunteer such as a single parent. Does that mean that the child should not be able to participate in a sport? I was fortunate that I was able to be an at-home parent and volunteered in everything my children were signed up for. My concern is that the school district just built those beautiful additions to both high schools and are now having to make cuts. It is a shame that the improvements were made and now the facilities may not be used as much as they should. One last comment. . I volunteered at Craig H.S. many years ago to help organize a co-ed sand volleyball league when they put in the sand courts. I was very politely told "No" by the athletic director. I had several of my children's friends interested in a intramural volleyball but it wasn't even discussed or considered. It is a shame that more children aren't given the opportunity to enjoy a sport.

Good for you Mr. Meinert! I don't feel the Arizona law has anything to do with racism. It has everything to do with following the law. I don't care what color someone's skin is or what nationality they are, if they are in our country illegally, then they should be arrested. The police should also have the right to ask for their papers if they are stopped for some other offense. Please keep in mind I said if they are stopped for some other offense. I don't believe the police have the time nor desire to stop people just to check their papers. I also believe that children born in the United State from illegal immigrants should NOT be granted American citizenship automatically. Why do I have to follow the laws of our country and illegal immigrants don't? Pllleeaasse . . .I think this racism issue has gone too far. Don't go off and call me racist now just because I don't agree with the protesters. I am not racist and have friends of many nationalities.
On Janesville bike crossing discussion revived

I totally agree with Dongo. I have never seen anyone using the bike lanes on Milwaukee Street or N. Wright Road when I have travelled them. I think the city has to let the trail users be responsible and use the button for the flashing light and learn to cross by looking both ways. If we pay to do something at this crossing where will it stop. The next street to deal with will be the crossing at Wright road. Stop spending the taxpayers money!

On Police block protesters at Paul Ryan's office

If these protesters really want to make a difference, just cooperate and schedule a meeting with Mr. Ryan like everyone else does. They, instead, make themselves look like arrogant trouble-makers.
