I agree, guns do not kill people, people kill people. A gun can not kill someone by just sitting there. It takes someone to pull the trigger. I own firearms, I use them for hunting, target shooting, and home defense. I don't care what kind of gun laws they try to pass. They will not get my firearms. I bought and paid for them with my hard earned cash and I have the right to own them. It is not this man's fault that these idiots went out and killed people. Also, as far as I know, if you buy a firearm over the internet, you have to have it shipped to a FFL dealer and also go through any background checks in order to get it just as you would buying straight from a dealer.

krj, This man had NO BUSINESS being on the road at all. He was driving with a revoked license and he was intoxicated, plus he fled the scene. It doesn't matter how long ago his prior offenses were. Maybe some of these people calling us wisconsin residents ignorant rednecks are ignorant themselves. I bet if he would have killed one of your family members while driving, you would not be making that remark. WISE UP.

Let me say one thing. If this guy had broken into my home, he would have been leaving in a hurst, not an ambulance.
On Rock County could stiffen smoking ordinance

First off, let me say that I am a smoker, for now anyway. I have gone to bars and restaraunts, both smoking and nonsmoking (owners choice). I work in a nonsmoking place (school) which is my choice. I have worked at businesses where I had the choice to smoke if I wanted to (my choice). It was the owners choice to allow smoking at these businesses. My point here is that it should be up to the owner of a business to allow or not allow smoking at their establishment, not the goverment. Just as it is the choice of smokers and nonsmokers to go to or not to go to these places.

HMMMMMMMM, I wonder if Lulu has ever killed a fly, a mosquito, or even a defenseless little spider. If so, I quess that would make him/her an un-intelligent human according to his/her post. Now thats not to say that I think this cougar should be killed. I think it should be left alone except maybe try to monitor it. As for myself, I hunt and fish for the food and love it.

Grumpy, good up bringing, I was raised the same way. We farmed and hunted, most of our food came from what we grew in the garden, raised on the farm and hunted in the woods. We only hunted what our family would eat (I am still that way today.) I keep hearing that this is a dangerous animal. Well, yes it could be if provoked. As could just about any other animal out there. Any animal could attack if provoked,to defend itself, as would just about any human out there. A chipmunk will bite if you corner it and try to catch it. As far as anyone knows, this cougar has not caused any problems. I think if anything should be done at all at this point is maybe try to monitor it, maybe try to learn its territory, and if it has a mate, why it is in this area. If in fact it is wild and not an escaped animal, the reason it may be in the area is to find its own territory to roam. I believe these cats are loner animals other than mating, and I do believe they cover quite an area to hunt and live. If in fact that is why it is in the area. I would think there should be plenty of wildlife for this cougar to prey on. On a personal note. The way this world is today, I would feel more at ease spending a night in the woods with a cougar around the area than walking the streets at night in many of our cities.

Like I said, I hunt for the (food), not for the sport of it. I do not take game that I will not eat. But if by some chance that one of the animals I come across in the wild decides I would be good food and attacks then, yes, I would shoot it, but not kill because it may attack. I have not heard of any problems concerning this animal. I think if the DnR feels that this animal may pose a problem, then maybe they should try to capture it and relocate it. Not just go out and kill it.

Most wild animals will stay clear of humans at all cost. But that's not to say during these cold temps. that they won't take advantage of a nice cozy place to bed down for the night. (Evansvillehousewife) Deer will usually stay clear of horses, apparently there is something about horses they do not like, on the other hand, they will herd up with cattle in the field, that I have seen many times. Now, I am a hunter (I hunt for the food) and have had a few wild animals come closer to me in the woods than I would have expected, apparently they didn't feel threatened by me at the time. Now, for all of you YAHOOS that want to kill this animal because you feel it is a danger. Well, what if someone felt you were a danger, whether it be your driving habits or you looked at someone the wrong way or whatever. Do you think maybe they should just lock and load on you?

Hey Clyde, just remember everything you are posting here, if someone breaks into your home or confronts you on the street with a weapon. All I can say is if someone breaks into my home, they will be leaving in a hearst.
