I've been away from Janesville for 1 1/2 years now and I miss my friends the most, then in a close 2nd is Woodman's. You all do not know how good you have it for grocery prices and choices up there. I now have to shop at Walmart or Kroger:(
On GM forcing workers to move to Ohio

Blah Blah Blah...move to another GM city and you won't see this kind of blogging bashing that goes on against GM employees and the company. The Gazette is really milking the GM headlines..find another company to air their employees wages, salaries, benefits, transfers etc. The company did everything possible to make a bad situation a little better for so many people.

Who is the county's biggest employer now? Is it Lab Safety? Just wondering. It's great that this tradition of helping people in great need will continue in Rock County. It's sad that in one year since General Motors has been gone, no one in that time frame stepped up until 3 weeks before Christmas.

I'm wondering why "cbrltr" says this wasn't at Mercy...from the way the article is put and the sued parties, it sure does look that way. It's too bad what happened to this child during delivery. This isn't probably what the parents wanted to do, but by the same token if their son needs some kind of medical help over his lifetime, this money will hopefully help him out.

More than 5 years ago a saleslady at Eastowne Slumberland told me that the company wanted to break into Janesville for a store. Kind of can't believe they're going to open now, but I do think it is great for Janesville and the eyesore of the old Walmart.

Your family and friends will need much strength during this time. I wish you happiness, strength and hope. My uncle had ALS and the story is quite similar. My prayers will be with you.

I was going to take some things to the Consignment store, but will be dropping them off at your place instead. What an inspiring family to lead the community especially when things look so doom and gloom for so many. Thank you!!!
