I agree SwissChick, that article from JSonline made me sick. Just when I thought this story couldn't get me anymore nauseated. This mother is going to need alot of prayers, support, and help. Even though it took her a week to report her injuries, she should not feel guilty about what happened. This man sounds like a real sick individual. The entire family wasn't safe with him, no matter when she would have reported it. I have seen many women who suffer from domestic abuse, refuse to report their injuries. Perhaps after he took off with her son, she felt by going to the police, she could save/help him. We will never really know the total and complete truth.

Thanks for giving us such a great article. These kids work so hard, every year, all year. They come up with some amazing ideas and really take great pride and ownership of these opportunities. As one of the Adult Advisors, I could not be prouder of these young men and women.

We found a stray dog, after RCHS hours, last year and called the JPD. An officer came out and he transported the animal to the humane society, where a worker met him. Just craziness to put that animal in your vehicle. Especially the size of the animal. I wouldn't put a parakeet in my vehicle overnight either.

My parish is locked at night. Open Mass times and daytime are about the only times the parishes remain unlocked. Theft is not the only issue, vandalism remains an issue too. I agree, back in the day, churches of any denomination were left open so one could go in and pray or seek guidance from clergy.

When you see the word racing, you tend to think speeding. I don't imagine there are too many drivers who are racing, trying to beat the other driver, and only going 45 MPH. Just a thought.
