On Standoff ends peacefully

Yes, I agree. Great job on the parts of all involved. I haven't read much on the Vest-A-Dog issue...will have to research that more. But I doubt that most, or all, criminals will be afraid of getting bit. Seems like a win-win with the vests for the K-9 unit.

On Homeowners worry about paying for heat this winter

It says that with the leakage(s) in their home, they had to set the thermostat to 83 so their house would register at 75. Big time leaks there. Glad to see there is help out there for folks who need it.

On 13-year-old fires at classmates with pellet gun

At what point do they decide when to charge beyond juvenile charges? He hit a student with his skateboard, breaking glasses and cutting the victims head. Then he leaves and returns with a pellet gun. Thank God it was only a pellet gun. Let's hope this young man learns his lesson.

To me, remorse would have included turning himself in, apologizing to the Khan family, and serving his time in a federal prison. My opinion is that suicide was used, simply, as cowardice. I'm not claiming to know for sure...these are just my opinions. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Khan and Zoellick families.

I've often wondered about this type of dilemma. Although those shows are meant educate the public, it seems they're forgetting that burglars help to make up that public.

Thanks Ted and Matt. Hearing about those yummy apples and seeing them, sure made me hungry. Will have to head to a local orchard with my children. Anyone have a good apple butter recipe they would like to share?

On Freedom From Religion seeks freedom from Day of Prayer

Just because there is a day of prayer, does not mean everyone has to partake. I might not participate in "national walking day" or "national take your child to work day" but that doesn't mean I'm going to sue someone. Dang sue happy society. If you don't like it, just don't do it...simple as that.

On Albion shooting suspect held on $5,000 cash bail

I must be lost. All these individuals set up this phony deal to rob "Kincade". Is this a person or a place. I see no other mention of this name in the article. Yep, I'm definitely lost. Oh, and I completely agree of the only $5,000.00 comment. That's ludicrous.

On Janesville School computer virus

Yes, Skyward is wonderful! It allows the parents to have a more active approach. We don't have to wait for our kids to bring home report cards, we can check the grades daily...or more often, if need arises. Patience is needed as we cannot expect the teachers to grade everything right away and get them posted. But the teachers are great with any questions concerning non-posted grades. Hang in there Trish, there is a light at the end of the tunnel :-)
