On Bluebirds fall short of state

Great season boys! Saw about 5 games this year. Sectional final is always an accomplishment. Many years Janesville hasn't made it that far. Stoughton team out hustled Janesville. Stoughton goalie, defense not making mistakes, and backchecking were keys to the game. Jacobson played well, but like all year, he only had one true defenseman in front of him. Jacobson can't stop everything, and with one defenseman, thats not a good mixture. Especially when the forwards don't play their positions well, and are not very physical. But, I've enjoyed watching the team play, and will continue to come to the games when I can. Again, congrats on making the Sectional final!

SarahB, the rink has been in need of upgrading for YEARS, and to answer your question, it depends on what the contract would say. Mr 2muchtax (mr one in the same), Beloit was not approched. Please don't say they were just because you don't want this. Spacejam, I don't drink alcohol, but I do enjoy sporting events both on TV and in person. I have a soda, my friends, family, wife may have a beer. There is nothing wrong with that! Oh, and for EVERYONE, this is not "youth hockey". That is completely seperate from this Jr level of hockey. If the beer area is not controlled well enough, then deal with it as you would a complaint about a bar. For those who have never attended a hockey game where beer is sold/consumed, please don't bash the idea. Beer gardens have been around for a long time, and lessons have been learned, Mr McCoshen and the rest of the investors know all about rinks and beer gardens, and will make sure all can be done to prevent underage people from getting into the alcohol area. Its THEIR investment TOO !!!

mr diplomat... ignorance should be bliss, but your lack of knowledge of the hockey culture is evident on this matter. This is not an "inferior" level hockey to start with, and people will travel from Madison, Monroe, and Rockford to see the team play. Thirty minutes for a hockey fan is nothing. Again, you may not understand this, but its true.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for our community. Junior hockey is super talented hockey that people would love to watch. This city could easily make it work, AND we have local players right now playing with the Bluebirds that are talented enough to play with this team. If I'm not mistaken, the Mussey kid who is playing for the Bluebirds is playing Junior hockey in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League already.

North Dakota kick our butt? You must not be from the Dakota's, because the "Dakotas youth/ high school hockey" don't do well as a whole, and I know our youth and high schools would destroy them. College hockey? How many North Dakota kids are on the ND college roster, and how many WI kids are on the Badgers roster?
When I watched the ECM game, I could see our forwards looked tentative, they weren't skating like they can. Our defense looked the best, as they stopped the highest scoring set of forwards in the state. Our goalie played extremely well. ECM is GOOD, I think they won in the semi last night against #2 ranked Superior.

On How should students’ cell phone use be limited?

This has nothing to do with being old or not up with the times. This is a matter of common sense. During the school day, within the school building, students have no business having access to a cell phone. Procedures are in place for using a school phone, and getting messages to students. Don't give me the arguement that my child needs it in case there is mayham going on at the school. You have just put my child in danger when every kid or parent is trying to call on the cell phone. Those cell towers would lock up so fast it isn't funny. And "cell signal jammers"? Why spend the money just because kids can't follow the rules in place. This has nothing to do with "modern life", or times change "and just deal with it". This is a safety and respect issue.
