My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I grew up in Evansville and have a story of Art that I tell all of the time. I am much wiser now with age and can tell this story and laugh. It was a tradition in Evansville to throw water balloons at each other in the park and the end of school. I was 16 and thought that Art was a guy named Phil. Art was in his personal vehicle at the park. I threw a water baloon at his car and then... Theresa pull over your vehicle. I received my first ticket for $89.00 from Art for throwing of missles prohibited. Needless to say I never participated in throwing baloons again. I laugh now cause' who throws a baloon at a cop, especially Art who knew all and gets away with it. My first tickets name will never be forgotten and I have to laugh when I think of Art giving it to me. He was a wonderful officer and wonderful for the Evansville community. Well respected by myself and many. He will be missed.

meemers,
We are getting the dogs at 530-600 tonight with a family member. I will be around on Monday if we can find eachother there, otherwise please leave me some info somehow on how to find you. This is an open site and I would feel much better not leaving personal info to the public about myself. We need to get in touch however.
Thanks,
T

Shaun,
you loved so much! you smiled, laughed and cried. none of us will ever understand how this happened. We wish you could only let us know so others could be helped in the future. Your friends and family still love you no matter what and we will be here for your family and our thoughts are with Jens family to. We are sorry this is how things ended.

My heart is with shaun and jens families. We were with family lastnight. No one has answers to what really happened. We will never know the scenario no matter how many times we play it out in our heads. As friends we can only do our best to be there and listen. Please when you comment think about how both of the victims were family to someone. Something could have been stopped but only for how long. Both of them were crying out for help in there own ways. What happened after that we will never know. Only Shaun and Jen will know. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and I hope the public is careful of the words they choose during this difficult time.

Glad you are safe Dan and Al.
Both of these men are on sleds all winter long. One up on the idiots that wrote comments earlier...
The sled is fine-it was not damaged
Thanks to the rescue team for doing your job
When you are in the health field you do not feel or express that someone waisted your time. Shame on you! I hope you are not friends with any rescue crew members and if you are they ought to be ashamed of you!
