Lifeisawheel is right. The crookedness is obscene in the village. Danz doesn't work here anymore because he was caught doing SUCH wrong that it got him investigated by the state, and now he wants to be a judge!

Vote AGAINST candidates with questionable CHARACTER, MORALS and VALUES who may someday judge YOU!

He wants it bad. Makes BIG signs! DESPERATE!

I was told by a former cop that he tried to make Police Officers IGNORE/Rescind citations issued to Illinois residents (as an acting DA) in the past!!!! (I smell a rat here...)

Notice all the support he gets from certain current and former Darien Board members? Why would that be? HHHMMMM. Birds of a feather maybe?

Responsible you are wrong if you think costs will lower or response time would be quicker if Walworth Co polices this village. This is called common sense.

I think its amusing that the prior board members who still are in office know that Maltese is not in 100 years qualified to be Chief. duh

Now that he is no longer of use to them, and they discard him, I wonder if he will turn on THEM? That would be funny funny stuff!

Maltese must think he's going to be the next chief. Maybe the 4 board members who screwed our chief want that. But that guy is so not qualified for that position.

I think we should go with shutting down the police department and having the county police us now rather than put that guy in charge.

I bet all the police resign now if they have to work for him.

What do we need? A new board. Those old school people are clearly not for the people.

So what if the ignoramuses (4 board members) decide to promote the sgt to chief?

I think there needs to be a background check on him not only regarding his education and NON-qualifications but also why and how he got a prior Police Chief fired where he worked.

He seems to be trouble with a capital T and needs to be investigated. I doubt he'd pass a psych test.

But the present 4 board members who are intent on their own power agendas won't let that stop them from installing a guy who will end up costing the villagers tons of money in lawsuits due to the guy being unqualified for the position.

Why should those 4 they care - ain't their money!

nancyboy the four members of the board are against all citizens. Why would they continue a baseless rant against our chief that we all want back and always act like they think they own the village? They were given an option by the committee and they declined to work it all out and save us money. They said no because they are full of themselves and need to be in control.

Now they're costing us all a ton of money. People aren't happy here.

They see these idiots are out for their ownself interest, not the voters. STOP COSTING ME MONEY. This could've been solved with no more lawyers. And they said no.

We're seeing what kind of governing they're doing. OMG, trust me on this....... they can say bye in April.
I'm not even on their radar as a citizen.

Don't judge the villagers until you know what the 4 morons on the board have been doing to all us taxpayers. Don't you get it - majority rules and in this case the majority is morons.

He is obviously a liar tho, as shown by his lie that he claims he don't live here. He does. So whatever else he says must be a lie too.

THANK YOU to all the fact posters, and the train conductor. I was talking to 4 neighbors today about all this, and we all would also like to sign a recall petition.
We resent the presumption of 4 board members made on our behalf. I don't know how they could act like this knowing how we voted. They're supposed to represent US.

They most certainly are not representing the people.

There is a huge new generation of families living here and we do not accept nazi governing to railroad a good police chief out based on personal politics, vendettas and grudges. Citizens here I've talked to like our chief.

The facts were put on this blog earlier about how much money the chief saved this community. I for one am impressed.

Do not get why those 4 board members hate the guy. Its clear they need to be removed for the good of the community. Maybe they have gotten full of themself with power and think its ok to ignore the will of the people.

The people are their BOSS and they are ignoring it.

The word about this is spreading quickly now. Let's GO on the recall. Can I help?

williepeter if thats true about how the Sergeant got his position, the ex VP overstepped authority by appointing the wrong (UNDERqualified) guy for the job. This could be corrected by verifying the results with the independent board, couldn't it?

I'd think the current board would want to right this wrong, wouldn't they?

Or is this not so easily corrected?

Regarding the chief, it seems the negotiating was done in good faith by the lawyer (who was being paid for by my tax money) and then the 4 board members refused it? I'd say that puts the blame at their feet. Why go through all that and cost us money then if its going to be all for nothing?

Those 4 need to pay for this prolonged and growing financial mess. The grudge/vendetta or schoolyard tantrum is not what us people voted for and they need to grow up and start putting the village people interests first or resign. Enough already.
