Apparently nobody knows that this is actually a pinch collar. It is very effective in teaching a dog. One thing about these collars is that the dog learns very quickly and very rarely needs it used. It is great for teaching a dog to walk well on a leash. I think people here are assuming it is a "bad" thing because of the type of dog it is on. If you have ever had to train a "strong" dog then you know that these are very helpful. Perhaps that is a bark collar as well. Why judge this owner if you don't know? Educate yourself before commenting, not everyone is abusing their animals...perhaps this owner is trying to have a good pet!

Thank you for coming on here and relaying educated comments. I am in the healthcare field and these comments anger me especially when people don't know what they are talking about!

everyone is ragging about going to Milton instead of Janesville. The 4th of July has nothing to do with staying in your own "community". You have the freedom to celebrate it whereever you choose!

Lets see....8 times.....those are the times he got caught. I am sure there are many more times that he made it home "safely". 1 time is a mistake but 8?? Obviously he does not learn quickly. Maybe when he kills someone on the 9th time it might start to sink in!

I would agree that ADHD has a tendency to be over diagnosed these days and IN SOME CASES, NOT ALL I agree some parents would rather label the child and use it as an excuse than deal with the child and work on issues. However, my child has ADHD and there definitely is a difference between "high-energy" and hyperactive and unless you are faced with it you may never know the difference.

Great comments ynot5462. Everybody has struggles...some worse than others. Some people choose to let the struggles rule them, some choose to overcome. ADHD does not cause a family to go into poverty. I do believe this child mentioned has some serious issues but proper counseling, meds, and setting better examples sure could help this family on a better track. Life is hard and you learn things as you go.

Good point tipi16. I think they are calling ADHD an emotional problem. Emotional/behavior problems are completely different issues than ADHD. I think that needs to be made clear.

Blogs on stories like this should kept to respecting the families and expressing your KIND thoughts to them. How disrespectful!

Grandprixgirl...did you notice the dog is outside?? he could be training. I don't really know, he could have the wrong intentions but all I am saying is that they are good training tools when used properly whether you agree with it or not!! Don't judge a person just because of what is on his dog...if these collars were on a lab noone would even question it.
