On How do you solve a problem like Maria?

Oh my gosh that sounds so fun. Maybe I should make the drive back to Janesville for that...

You could go as "me, a name I call myself." That costume couldn't be hard.

On The Jets haven't landed on my schedule

I've been to a bunch of games, mostly because my husband can usually get free tickets from his work, but also because it's really fun. I think a ticket is about $7 anyway, which seems worth the price to me. Think of it this way: It's like a Snappers game, but on ice.

I think they're doing well attendance-wise. The stands always look pretty full.

Yes, but there is an Edgerton Road in Milwaukee, so I will be reminded of Tobacco City all the time :)

I know, I don't mean to be insulting when I say I never heard of Janesville. It's more a matter of my ignorance than Janesville's celebrity or lack thereof.

On Birthday Parties - Part 2

We always had family parties (usually at home) and I was allowed to invite two or three friends from school. That seemed to be the best of both worlds. When I hit middle school, I'd usually invite a bunch of friends to a pizza place or to see a movie.

Gina already knows this, but for everyone else out there: Seek out the talent in your friends and family! You'd be surprised what they're capable of. Almost everything in my wedding (besides the clothes and food) was done by someone I know. My mom made the most gorgeous invitations, and a family friend made the cake and the jewelry for my bridesmaids. It still was professional quality, and I saved tons of money!

By the way, here is a link to a story I wrote about saving money on weddings: www.gazettextra.com/news/2009/apr/27/wed...

On The Never-Ending Brazilian Menu

I studied abroad in Spain, and they didn't pasteurize their milk, so they always heated it before drinking it. So I put hot milk on my corn flakes every morning. You get used to it.

The thing I really missed in Spain was peanut butter. Apparently in Europe, anything involving peanuts is considered "poor people food."
