Dr. Patterson delivered both of my children! He noticed my pelvis was narrow and my son was not going to fit through at my last visit and suggested C-Section...he was a wonderful Doctor and I was so comfortable with him being there for my daughter as well...within the following year he retired and I have not found a doctor in the area I trust or feel comfortable with. He is missed very much!

On Stray truck wheel strikes children

911 was called, an officer was at scene, and that "wonderful" officer cancelled the ambulance feeling it was not needed. Thankfully her Father was smart enough to take her to the hospital where they found internal bleeding and sent her to Children's Hospital.

On Stray semitrailer truck wheel hits Milton children

Bethdrew....How can you say "We are so very grateful that nobody was seriously injured" when a child is hospitalized in critical condition fighting for their life??? And I am sooo glad you jumped to correct the age of the child who will be 5 in a week and a half!
This Child and their family is in great need of everyone's thoughts and prayers right now, not the nit picking of road conditions and fault... it was a freak accident that no one could have expected. The important thing is a child is fighting in Critical care ICU. Once the child is recovering confortably and out of danger then start pointing fingers if you feel the need... now is not the time People. Now we need to come together as friends and community to pray and help this child to see their 5th birthday!!!!!! We love you sweet heart!!!!!!!

On Buses with belts concern school board

Posted on June 11 at 12:35 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

After driving a school bus for over 10 years, I can say I am glad my children are not in Janesville! I would not let them ride a school bus with manditory seatbelts! School busses are designed to keep the children between the seats even in a roll over. To get over 60 children off a bus school bus in an emergancy is hard enough but to help children remove seatbelts as well( which yes; most know how to remove them but would be shaken from an accident) THIS IS STUPID!!! It puts the children in danger! I'd like to know what Van Galder's drivers think?

This was a wonderful story; I wish there were more like this to publish in the paper. But I must comment on "PAT"'s little blog... NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT GM !!!!! did you read the story... auto mechanic he did NOT work at GM. I am getting sick and tired of the GM whining! get over it...companies close... people lose jobs... it sucks but it happens. You get over it and look for another one.

On New hospital planned in Janesville

Posted on April 10 at 11:29 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

I am glad to see residents will have a choice in their health care. I am a true believer in Mercy and will not change but there are alot of people who are devoted Dean patients. Now they will have a hospital closer and the loss of those patients from Mercy will make Mercy Hospital less congested and quieter for Mercy Patients. It is a wonderful addition!!!!!!!!

These early education programs may not be for all families, but we shouldn't toss them aside because they are needed for some children. My son needed early childhood for a speech delay and the program did wonders for him. this year he turned 4 and no longer needed early childhood but still needed a boost before kindergarden. Thankfully he was able to get into the pre-k class. 4 year old kindergarden will help kids who need the little extra help before kindergarden, even if it is just socialization skills.
