On College tuition costs are just part of the challenge for illegal immigrants

You mean instead of hasta la visa Sandman? Breaking the law is breaking the law. Outstaying a visa is not legal as is aiding and abetting known criminals. I just do not get how people will not discuss the elephant in the room or should I say the 11.5 million in this country.

On First responders dealing with rollover crash on 1-90 at Avalon Road

The reason I90 has been so bad is the traffic volume is far too much for two lanes to handle. I90 should have been expanded to three lanes each way long ago. Oh yeah, it was supposed to be, but the money was spent to balance the budget and put off the inevitable!

I hope this does not mean he will be avoiding prosecution and they go forward with the investigation and charges if called for.

On Janesville School Board member apologizes for comment

So if I understand this, it is ok for NHS and DECA and FFA advisors to be paid, but it is not ok for a school board member who is not paid to question why?

Parents should be able to choose to opt out of sending their kid to a school that is not making the grade. The deadline to apply is conveniently before the WKCE stats come out.

On Separation of church and state: fact or fiction?

Gazettefan, my comment to you is Matthew 10:27-31 "What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." You need to read the whole book to get the jist of the text. Be fearful of the real enemy as eternity is an awfully long time.

smith1 I was not watching Glenn Beck. I just finished taking an American Government course in college and was surprised to learn just how much the press, text book publishers and more are working hard to suppress the very fact that our country was founded on Christian principles by righteous founding fathers. The Constitution never, ever intended there to be a separation of church and state as we are shamelessly led to believe now and have volumes of writings to back that up you can find in our Library of Congress. http://www.loc.gov/index.html. Texas has it right to correct the atrocities in the textbooks. Give our children the facts and let them draw their own conclusions.

Read the text of the infamous "separation of church and state" letter yourself. You will see for yourself it is a personal letter from Thomas Jefferson in essence stating not that church should or would stay out of government, quite the contrary. It states that government would not interfere with church like there was a "wall of separation" between them. There was never an act of congress to EVERY put up such wall and keep church out of government. Check your facts.
