On Family awarded $893,684 in Mercy suit

I feel for the little boy and his family and it is very unfortunate that he and they have suffered. However, it still remains a fact that Moms and babies can and do sometimes die during birth. Thank goodness for modern medicine and easier access to those Doctors or it would be as common as it was 100 years ago. I don't think the Doctors are to blame here though based on what I read. I have a friend that chose to homebirth her 3 boys-all over 10 pounds with no complications at all. No one can predict what might go wrong in childbirth. I don't know, but it seems once that head was out, there is no going back! So maybe the Drs. did what they had to do to have a live baby.

On Which intersection do you think is the most dangerous in Janesville?

The worst intersections are any of those crazy frontage roads leading onto Milton Ave. Especially the ones by the strip mall across from the Janesville Mall and the one that is down by Toys R Us. I've seen some crazy moves pulled there!

On Can a Hooters girl coach Janesville high school poms?

Posted on September 3 at 11:51 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I'm not a big Hooter's fan, and not sure I'd want my daughters working there. But there are other places I would not encourage as well. However, what I get out of this article is that this young lady has already VOLUNTEERED quite a good amount of time with this squad. Did anyone care before, or is it just an issue now that she is pursuing a paid position? I don't think working at Hooter's should be that big of factor in hiring her. She is willing to leave her job she says, so it should not be held against her that she worked there before she took a coaching job(if she gets it). Would you hold it against someone that paraded her body around in a swimsuit at a beauty pageant.? Aren't women there being judged and appreciated the same as Hooter's? I know a few great Moms who worked at Hooter's "back in the day"(before we all hit middle age :)

Regardless of what happened, this is very sad for all their family and neighbors. My condolences to them.

On Tallman Art and Music Festival canceled

That's a shame, but hardly surprising. I went last year and purchased an item. It was a nice time, but I don't think it needed to be a 2 day event.

On Animal menagerie found in Janesville apartment

This reminds me of the story going around today about the poor 2 yr. old child who was killed by a pet Python this week. Some pet owners make bad, bad decisions. Isn't there some ordinance against having farm animals in the city?

On UPDATED: Part of Janesville under a boil-water advisory

Posted on May 8 at 9:32 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

It is bad when I find out this from reading my friend's posts on Facebook! So all day my 4 children under age 9 and I have been drinking this crap. So, we'll keep our fingers crossed and since we are the last house in the city ask our neighbors(who are Harmony Township) if we can get a pitcher of water! LOL No wonder they don't want to be annexed in Starview Heights!!

On Family, friends mourn loved one

Posted on April 24 at 10:12 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

My thoughts and prayers go out to this young lady's family. I've walked in their shoes and trust me, their nightmare is just beginning. It will be hard to grieve and try to get through the days when they now have to read about this scum bag in the newspapers and then the legal trials will start and the pain will continue as every detail is examined and drug out for at least a year to get to trial. 14 years ago my sister, Susan Anderson was murdered by her husband. Next year we have to start going to parole hearing for that scumbag, as he got Life, oh but the judge gave him a chance at parole after 15 years. Yeah, thanks Rock Co. Judge for making us have to go through this from now on. So, my heart brakes for this family since they will suffer. I hope that their friends and loved ones will realize that they need support and prayers for many, many years.

On Restaurateur adding flavor to Janesville

I've had their food at catered events. Excellent. But I really miss Lebanese food since moving to Janesville. He has a Lebanese background, any chance I can get my fix here? And, yes, I've tried most of the places in Madison as well.
