On To tattoo, or not to tattoo?

I'm a 45 year old mom. I got my first tattoo 18 months after my now 17 year old son was born. It is in honor of him. I'm planning on getting a 2nd one soon, a tribute piece to my two recently departed dogs. When my son turns 18 he is going to get a tattoo in honor of my late father, something my dad drew many years ago. This same son is also an almost straight A student. Many people are surprised by that. He has long hair and baggy pants. He cannot go into a store without being followed and yet would never think to steal anything. He is always polite and I am very proud of him. Will a tattoo make him look even more untrustworthy? Probably. It's a shame we live in a society where appearances matter so much that people don't see the true person.

IF Mat Gamel is a total failure at first base?? Of course he will be. He can't field and he can't hit. I can't believe the Brewers still have him! He's only good in his own mind.

Right after the red light runners , speeders and tailgaters start getting ticketed. I try to stop for pedestrians when I can if it's safe to do so. It would also be nice if pedestrians could actually give drivers a chance to see them before just walking out, especially at a certain bike crossing on E. Milwaukee. Maybe even activating the lights occasionally would be great.

At the very least anyone that works as a cashier should be able to make change without a machine telling them how. It really is not that difficult. Shame on all the businesses that can't be bothered to teach their employees something so basic. The person checking you out is the face of that business. If they seem incompetent, it reflects poorly on your business. A long, long time ago my first job was as a cashier. My employer made sure I knew how to make change and I already knew. Counting up is not a difficult concept. I'm tired of helping out cashiers make change when there is an issue with the register or they enter the wrong amount that I gave them.

I am in no way letting the driver off the hook. I live near this area and drive that stretch every day. I can't tell you how many near misses there are between pedestrians and drivers. People are always stepping out mid block in front of cars. They don't look for cars and they sure as heck don't hurry to get out of the way. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents over there. My condolences to the victim's family and I hope the driver spends the rest of his life in prison.

Joy, more than once he has come home from school overhearing some clean cut rich kid talk about their recent 100% discount they made off with the night before, probably because security was too busy following kids that look like my son. It's ridiculous "profiling" goes on when it's usually the ones you would never think are the ones doing it. Again, why should people need to be someone they're not to make a few uptights happy?
