Yes because this is the perfect way to support students, make sure all needs are met, and help get test scores higher...great idea cannot wait to see the brain child behind this idea.

According to another article it is 50 actual classroom teachers and then an ADDITIONAL 55 which include counselors, library media, learning support etc, which totals 105 positions.
On Janesville teachers won’t re-open contract

So if a doctor tells you to stop smoking or you will die, one would gues you stop smoking. If a lawyer tells you do not open a contract, you do not open a contract. That is all the article says. It does not say the teachers said they would not open it says the teachers were told NOT to open.
On Janesville School District estimating $10 million shortfall

How about the district look at all the buildings they rent at a crazy amount of money. The TAGOS school pays over $15,000 a MONTH in rent, the international school and charter pay over $7,000, and who knows how much they spend in all the buildings they rent for storage of old school materials. I think you could save a lot of money just cutting the rent there and maybe closing those schools or moving them to elementry schools that have alot of room.
On Parker High School could lose assistant principal position

“Each assistant principal has experiences and duties that cover selected areas of expertise. Rick’s area is athletics.” Are you kidding me! The two new APs at the high schools and the new one at Edison have NO experience prior to the current one. So their three months of experience at the school and they know it better then a person that has been there for 3 years? Makes a lot of sense. Wake up Schulte we are on to you. I am sure the next thing she cuts is counselors and teachers, but heaven forbid we cut BRO and SES.
On Janesville School Board to consider cutting assistant principal position

I cannot believe what I am reading. I cannot believe I moved to this district. When is the school board going to wake up. There is obviously a reason why so many great people are leaving the JSD. It is sad that Rick is being laid off, but maybe for the best. Isn't the most important thing the children we are teaching, and now we are taking away the people who help make that happen. PS. I think someone should look into the several times a year when Karen decided every administrator in the district is required to be downtown for some kind of training leaving ALL schools without any administrator. What if something were to happen? Great decision Dr. Schulte...

What an amazing man. He deserves the rest. No disrespect but does anyone else find it interesting that all the great administrators are leaving?
On Janesville teachers request mediation in contract talks

I am not a teacher but have two masters degrees one from a state university and one from a private college...for those that say a masters degree is cheap even at Madison better check the facts http://www.finaid.wisc.edu/index.php?mod... this is according to the official UW Madison web site. $26,000 for a small pay increase does not sound reasonable to me. And as far as paying high taxes of 7000 for a 250000 dollar house. Move to Madison and have that kind of house and see how much you would pay...you may reconsider complaining about your taxes in Janesville.
On Absenteeism climbs as students show flu-like symptoms

My understanding regarding the attendance policy is that if you have a doctors note (and these can be faxed right to the school from the doctor) it is labeled as a medical on your child's attendance and it DOES NOT count against the 80 hours of absences allowed by the district. At least this is how it is at the high school where my daughter is.

On Janesville schools might increase class sizes

How about instead of raising class sizes close TAGOS, they pay over $100,000 a year in rent not including the electric and everything else. Guess how many students go there...8 last I heard. And it would be really interesting to see how many actually graduate from there.
