On GM plant becomes political football

How GM really failed. Its not gas prices people. Their number one selling vehicle was still their full size pickup after gas prices skyrocketed. And yes, unfortunately we had the oldest, most outdated plant.

On Ryan fans, protesters keep things moving outside send-off rally in Janesville

misterjensen - You need your own head examined. Keep voting for the Kool-aid and false promises that bury this Country even deeper everyday. Keep voting for no budget, an endless checkbook and zero solutions. Keep voting for an administration that has done nothing more than add an obscene amount to the already existing problem. You believe Obama is the lesser of two evils? That is laughable. The man blames everyone for his own lack of leadership. He is a disgrace to Kennedy, Clinton, etc who at least understood some compromise. Why any democrat can't look at Obama and go, "this guy is a joke" and not what the democrats need, is beyond me. Obama is President, but he is not a leader.

poobah - The national AVERAGE is higher than it's ever been. Not to mention, it has stayed consistently higher than ever during his entire term. The national average has nearly doubled since he took office. I know that is hard for you to believe because Obama couldn't possibly be blamed for anything and everything is Bush's fault.

dustyd - I would also agree with those things that didn't help GM's cause. I do still however continue to drive one and always have.

yada - Let me elaborate on GM because I know you are a little slow. I know you simply want to blame it on Republicans like everything else in the World. GM's corporate cronies destroyed GM with their overspending and ridiculous management tactics. GM's cross branding with multiple vehicles under different names destroyed GM. GM's unions and pension/benefit requests that skyrocketed destroyed GM. Having an estimated $3,000 in costs per vehicle before it was even built destroyed GM. And at the end, the taxpayer bails them out (which I understand needed to happen) and yet they continue operations in Mexico. It wasn't gas, and it wasn't any politician. Doyle, Obama, Ryan, ...nobody could save it. Gas is higher now than it's ever been so the "it's Bush's fault" because gas was high that we all heard is absolutely laughable.

Hwkwind - GM left Janesville because GM failed GM from the top down. While they continue to keep operations open in Mexico and close plants in the states.

yada - your responses prove your mind needs to focus on finding a job. Obama isn't going to just hand you one.

Yada - I have now seen it all. Posting stories on prep school? Really? Along with your name calling antics, why does this not surprise me? After all, you truly believe that by posting on a small, mom and pop local newspaper forum, you are going to change peoples minds on their political views. Might want to find something more constructive to do with your time.

...and yes, you don't have to agree with Ryans politics to understand the accomplishment and the exposure for the city. I realize the "Gazette negative, my life is horrible usual crowd" will have a hard time with that concept.

yada - and you believe Obama and his cronies care about you? If you haven't noticed in the last four years that they don't, you are wearing a blindfold. Oh wait, they are great because they are democrats right? Even though they have failed at leading this Country and have buried it even deeper. You believed the hope and change before, now its time for some of us others to actually follow through with it.
