factsplease, the death of a family member is usually do to the fact that the guns are not in a safe. There are so many options available to protect your family from the guns themselves. There's really no excuse for this to happen at all.

criticaleye, are you telling all of us if your family (wife/husband, children, etc.) were in harms way in your home you wouldn't do everything possible to protect and save them? Allow them to be harmed, possibly raped, murdered....or save them? Pretty easy decision for me. I don't care if I know the person or not; my family, my home, our lives...the answer is simple to me, protect my family.

On College tuition costs are just part of the challenge for illegal immigrants

vatoloco our legal citizens are good people too. A lot of us cannot afford to pay for our children's education these days and there is little available for financial aid to help them. I would much rather pay for LEGAL citizens of the U.S. to get a college education than someone who is here for free! I have no problems helping them if they go through the citizenship process like all others who have migrated here from other countries. I have friends from other countries who have paid thousands to become U.S. citizens; they deserve help with their education. I don't care if they came here when they were 2 or 3 years old, they are still illegal immigrants.

wislady, do you have proof of this?
"There was no "doctor patient" relationship established when the notes were written on the sidewalk."
Or are you just assuming this happened? I highly doubt doctors stood on the street with a notepad writing medical excuses while teachers stood in line and waited. Nonsense....

montereykid, you have a point...it's just too bad that they can't figure out a way to create some jobs for these kids. Jobs would help keep some of them out of trouble as well.

On In your face(book): Cyberbullying common
Posted on January 30 at 7:36 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
I have a teen recently cyber-bullied; physical threat. Difficult to address the issue. If you do everything you want to do, are you endangering your child even further? Kangaroojack, that's what I told my kid....don't address, respond or react. Watch your back, don't be alone. I feel I should contact the school because that's where it'll happen if it does, but my teen feels the school shouldn't be involved. I am going to keep a close watch on this and if I feel my child is in danger, I'll do whatever means necessary. The justice system says unless something happens, there isn't anything they can do. Basically, my child be beat before they'll do anything. If anyone has any other thoughts or ideas, please share.
