On Corporations, wealthy won’t pay fair shares in Wisconsin
Posted on August 25 at 11:49 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
OMG This article is the best I've seen from Gazette. I almost fell over when I saw this. Yes,this is an old post but because I gave up on the Gazette being a fair reporter. This article should intrique people to do some research. We, as tax payers helped the corporations out when they needed bailouts. Allowed them to use our tax dollars and SS to fund the ability for them to stay in business and have the life of luxury. Now, that the poor are jobless and homeless, they will not help. In fact, they are given millions of dollars in tax refunds. The gas tax, goes straight to China, gas companies pay no income taxes in US but pay income to China. BP charged 9.9 M on their taxes for the clean up. Yes, folks, we paid for that. don't yell at me-research it!! I think the corps should leave and we'll just depend on our mom and pop businesses.

germancaveguy as much as I would love to argue the point with you I will not. we are on two different waves. you defend this process with numbers, calculations and how things have always been done. I on the other hand see change is being very important. Sure, the assessments were probably done legally correct, but was it done morally correct? It doesn't take much for a person to look at the calculated formula and fight to change them in order for our city to stay functioning. Government does it all the time - why can't anyone else? Don't tell me what is, I am educated and KNOW what can be. Would love to know who you are so we can talk in a couple of years when even the Gazette is out of business.

germancaveguy - you are right - all of your post is correct. My post, on the other hand, was trying to get people to look beyond the focused mindset and look at the whole picture. Obviously this is wrong as people are assessed all the time on their properties, but somehow this situation hit the paper. Common sense tells people this is wrong and you try to fight the validity of this is funny. I would think you would want to save whatever businesses we have left in Janesville.

bballcouach - your question is silly. I never said businesses shouldn't pay property taxes, what I said was that the city should understand that property taxes beyond the ability to pay will cause their business to close down. Janesville can't afford that. When the accessor comes to your house and doubles your value and tax rate, then you will complain. Janesville cannot raise taxes, but they can raise the value of your home and apparently it doesn't matter what its selling worth is. and far as where the money is suppose to go-give me a break - today, its pooled fund as far as any level of government is concerned.

916wi - you are delusional of course teachers will leave. Teachers need to be treated with respect. Whether you like it or not, a teacher taught Walker how to read. Just because he wasn't smart enough for college, doesn't mean he should trash the whole educational system. Teachers in WI start out at 25,000 a year with usually a educational debt. Why in the world would they want to teach your kids and probably be eligible for welfare? They spent 4 years in college to be told they are worthless. Did you know that teachers do not get social security? Their pensions and their medical benefits is what they were given to love and care for our children. I, for one, would die for my children and their future and I would NEVER bad mouth a teacher who prepares our future - that had my children's future in their hands. Shame on you.

On Parent finds it hard to ignore evidence of vaccine injuries

Has anyone researched the INGREDIENTS to these vaccinations. Alluminum is a link to alzheimer's and is used in vaccinations. I'm not sure that roach killer (another ingredient) has any effect on human diseases. However, in researching how great vaccinations are, you find the studies have been done by drug manufacturers, not saying they would be bias or anything. Even searching the National Institute of Health, documents are published by people who would benefit by drug sales. Have you ever wondered why the Amish don't have the illnesses (side-effects) that are being claimed. Here's a link, not sure if this is biased as well: http://www.judicialwatch.org/documents/2...
