Where was all the teachers when gm and other companies was thinking about closing> Did they care when all of them lost their jobs. Why should we care about them. My taxes are high enough being on a fixed income. Not income was reduced for 3 years in a row. No one was there to help us. Let them take their cuts like everyone else.

The city is putting money into something that we don't need right now. Sell the property and home and be done with it. With all the problems this city has, we don't need to keep putting money into something that doesn't even make enough to run it. I seen it once, why would I go back and see it again. It's the same thing. If all these people want to keep it going let those people buy it and maintain it themselves....
On Do kids play outdoor games anymore?

I, too, remember kick the can, also back in the late 50's early 60's the schools were opened during the summer months. We played zellball, knock hockey, hop skip & jump, and even earned ribbons. They had crafts you can do and all sorts of games. We were always outside, and if we told our mom we were bored she would put us to work. Never did that again.
Times were simplier and yes we didn't even have to lock our doors at night..

On Vote could resurrect workers union at Woodman’s
Posted on November 20 at 7:59 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
The union did nothing for the employees when they were there before. What makes you think they would do any better now? Whenever anyone needed they help they would say, oh, I 'll check into it and then would never get back to the employee. They just sat there collecting their monthly dues. I hope all of you will think about this and remember the old ways the union did business. Did they help you when Woodmans cut your hours? Did they help the ones out that got fired? Just think about it.
On Report: Wisconsin taxes claim 12 percent of income

markr: 1st of all get you facts right. My wife is a supervisor and have a complete knowledge on how welfare works. The monthly money doesn't roll over to the next month. It has to be used in the month it was issued. Also all employees have to have training on the welfare usage, what they can buy and what not. You probably have no knowledge on how it works. I know 1st hand, my uncle is blind and gets 20.00 a month, and it must be used in the month it was issued. Get your facts right before spouting out.

My spouse works at a grocery store. You wouls not believe the amount of money on ebt(food stamps) card. When they scan the card some of the card amount range all the up to $3000.00 and down. That is pure nonsense. Noone needs that anount of food stamps per month. 95% of the people aren't even handicapped. No wonder people flock to Wisconsin to get welfare....

On Crossing guards in the crosshairs

This gets me going. They can eliminate a crossing guard that helps kids get across the street for safety purposes, but yet they can spend millions of dollars for an ice arena that a very small percent of people use. Go figure.....
