On Which intersection do you think is the most dangerous in Janesville?

More of a pain than a danger, the Milton Ave./Memorial Dr. intersection might work better with the one direction at a time signal system (like Randall/Milwaukee intersection). It is near impossible to turn left from Milton onto Memorial and not go through a yellow light.

Yes, the business manager retired. Word of his planned retirement was out long before any computer issues surfaced.

As an employee of the district, I have to say that some of these "safety" measures are overkill. I wonder how much of these measures are actually a way to surveillance the employees. It's almost insulting to report to our disrict office for a work purpose and be made to buzz in and sign in like a stranger. All for the 1 minute it takes to drop off something or pick something up (on my time, no doubt). It takes longer to sign in/out than it does to do what I went there to do!

Agreed...very good news. I have not always had the best luck at Mercy so am excited to have a choice. And I believe a little healthy competition for Mercy will mean better service for their customers.
On Janesville fireworks show lacked community support

I agree with Only1opinion. The Gazette should poll readers on where the fireworks/festivities should be held. I am big on tradition and miss watching them from the center or "heart" of the town. I understand they were moved last year due to flooding, and did watch them last year. I was really disappointed they were not back at Traxler this year. If it had something to do with last year's flooding, then OK -- move it back NEXT year. I will watch from Traxler.
As for the other festivities, I have only attended them a few times. Each time I've attended, I noticed was how dirty and rickety the rides and games were. It's never been much of an "attraction" in my mind. It seemed the only thing highly attended is the beer tent (surprise). The majority of the people looking for a family event seem to look elsewhere.
I have lived in Janesville all my life and there has been talk of a decline in attendance at the Fourth of July "festivities" for many years before this GM blow hit us. Lack of money in our local economy has only reminded people to pick and choose how to to spend -- for me, Janesville's "festivities" just aren't worth it. We left town this year all-together.
And yes, Freedom Fest is a competitor. It's free to the public. Hey, in tough times, free is a great word -- for just about anyone! And I do not need a beer tent to have a great time.

Wow...I hope Jay does a better job in his temporary position than he does at his current position! I was told to submit a claim to him when a very large pothole popped my tire back in December, and never received a response. As a taxpayer, it sure would've been nice to at least receive a response.

Dr. Carlson is a good administration and a great person. Any district would be lucky to have him, and it would be sad to lose him at Parker. Best of luck, Dale!

Agreed…this is a HUGE loss for Parker High School. I hope the School Board & District Administration do everything in their power to find someone who will not only serve the students & parents of Parker well, but will maintain the morale of the Parker family. One thing for sure…nobody will bleed green & gold as Steve Schroeder has. I wish you and your family all the best!
