Why doesn't some reporter write an article about some candidate for office who had an opportunity to use a legal loophole to avoid paying taxes and DIDN'T use it! I wouldn't vote for him....thinking he was too STUPID to hold office! Bet you won't find any either...

It sounds like ole Mike has lost the "fire in the belly" and doesn't have (if he EVER had it) what it takes to be a representative politician. He must place the interests of his constituents over his own personal ambitions. It's evident he is no longer capable of doing this. He senses his political world crumbling around himself and now is personal life as well. Get that application in to the union HQ Mikey... they'll take care of you... or don't they need YOU anymore? Oh well, NOW you know how WE feel!

How did this slide by the District Business Manager? This had to be the first and biggest requisition from Kierns's IT department and the options and price weren't questioned by them? If he didn't ask the right questions he should have. He is responsible for all business transactions. I would think, like the captain of a ship, he is responsible for what they do. If he didn't know, he should have known!

Time for Judy to go... she has gotten herself entrenched into the political web. She reached her pinnacle as speaker and failed. Time for her to retire. We need a Republican voice in Madison for a change! Look what the dems have done so far!

Another "Diamond Jim" Doyle hairbrained idea that will cost us money and just provide ammunition for lawyers suing for racial profiling. Just another payoff to the legal profession.

Well said billnewbie... you lose local control and you lose local control of your own destiny.
If the state lets the Feds pay a higher share of govt then they lose when the Feds have to cut back. The closer you keep it to home, the more control you have over it..... and less strings...

This was a great piece of journalism! Frank told it like it is without a hint of how HE personally stands on the subject. Great job in saying that the "emperor has no clothes on".
My conclusion is the problem could have been lessened considerably if the teachers would have reopened their contract. It was in THEIR interest as well. I suspect they stuck to their guns in principle even though over 60 teachers will be searching the teaching field only to find other teachers looking also. They won’t come back to teaching because of bitterness… and I suspect they won’t join a union again either?
