On Soldiers’ return set for Sunday

Posted on January 21 at 6:43 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Welcome home to ALL Janesville soldiers who may or may not be in this unit. It's about time the community supports our military AND the families. We have had Janesville soldiers deploying over and over for years, but the community never really showed much interest until a huge deployment knocks on the door. A large majority never knew there was a local National Guard unit. Did you know we had a local group deploy in 2005? I hope this community is not being superficial and continues to show support regardless of the number who deploy. Also, the families deserve this just as much as the soldiers. Can't begin to understand what deployment does to the entire family. Thank you families for staying strong, keeping the faith and working as a team to ensure these soldiers have a home to return to. You truly are amazing!!!
Readers, please do not misinterpret my point of view because I am one of the biggest supporters of military families.

On Families welcome soldiers of Company A back to Wisconsin

Frogger- the military is the organization that you must be most patient with because the only thing that stays the same is change. The demobilzation is a planned process that has a daily schedule which can change 10 times before it is carried out. Planning ahead isn't part of a military agenda. lol Keep your schedule flexible, if you can.

On Colonel: State's soldiers in danger

My comment is all about the author whom I feel is out of line. Before titling an article that puts up a big red light of DANGER, you should do some research on how the military works in favor of the families morale and well being. The LAST thing you do is talk about how dangerous a situation is. I realize modern technology makes things easier as far as keeping in touch, but soldiers are told never to talk about their mission and the danger involved. Duh! We are in a war zone so of course there is danger present. The definition of war is as follows, "a state or period of armed hostility or active military operations". So is it really necessary to title an article the way it was? The title could have easily focused more on the changes made or conditions rather than a very small paragraph. The focus is always on the soldiers, but you need to stop an think about those left behind. They are just as much heroes as our enlisted and commissioned men and women. And the families need just as much support. Please be more cautious and positive in the future.
