On Janesville Salvation Army raises holiday fundraising goal

Can anyone tell me why we choose to have a city manager vs a mayor. The people of Janesville can vote for a mayor depending upon if they are doing a good job or not, city managers never leave because they get paid alot of money and we have no say about how long they stay.

On Janesville proposes new containers for garbage pickup

I think this would be good, I quit saving papers because I got tired of carting bag after bag of papers and magazines. I started to take my cans to the Humane Society because people would take all my cans at the curb. I wanted to help the city with recycling in hopes it would help with my taxes.

On County breaks ground on new facility for elderly

people don't give much thought about nursing homes until you need one, they are not all equal, some reject you because you only have medicare or medicaid, Rock Haven does not do that, they treat you with dignity, have great nurses, and give you peace. Its too bad we don't have more nursing homes like Rock Haven.

On Rock County getting new nursing home

A few years ago I had to find a nursing home that would take my mom, I called several places and as soon as they found out she had only medicare they found excuses not to take her. Rock Haven said they would take her and treated her with dignity. The place was always clean, she could pick her own food, they entertained her and they treated her like they really cared about their patients. It made me feel easier to place her there and I would reccommend it to anyone. I think its GREAT they are finely getting a new place to be proud of, not everyone has the money to go to the other nursing homes.

I am tired of draging my pop cans to the curb just so people can go through them and take them all. I now take my cans to the Humane Society and I know they are going to a good cause. Check into this, they are very grateful to receive them and I know they are helping the animals.

I agree with becca, we are very fortunate to have a trama center in Janesville, some of us don't want to go madison for care. Mercy will always be around, I have always had GREAT CARE. Also the reason why you have to wait in the ER so long is because people go there when its not an emergency, go to Urgent care. All the hospitals are in business for a profit no matter who they are, if you don't think Dean St Mary's is looking for a profit, you are very wrong. I hope all these hospitals can make it in this poor economy.
