On UAW/GM EAP holiday food drive won't happen

ctr1-you said it the best-Be proud to be part of Janesville and work together, don't be always so negative. Everyone in our house has lost their jobs because of the economy, we try to stay upbeat and look to the future(which is really hard at times) but life goes on and so are we. Stay positive, we will get through this.

hannah-instead of worrying about the GM employees giving, what do you do to give to the community? It sounds like you have time as much as you blog, put your time to good use.

To all you GM bashers that said closing GM won't effect the city, that there is life after the plant closes, maybe now you should think how much they gave to the community. Its only going to get worse as people lose their unemployment-the recession is not over in Janesville.

Wise up City Council-We are in a terrible economic crisis. We should worry about heating our homes and food for everyone then the fun stuff comes after the economy improves. When spring comes and alot of people lose unemployment, who is going to go watch the games? There is so many people hurting right now that it will just turn out to be an empty building. I just learned last night that Blockbuster on Court street is going out of business-there's another empty building soon.

I think Green Bay should Thank Brett Favre for all the money he brought to Green Bay for 16 years. Why does everyone have to be so bitter now days, if you are mad at anyone, be mad at Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy. Brett is a very talented player and I for one think he should be honored.

On Does Janesville need a second hospital?

Dean Care is a business-they will raise rates to pay for their new glorified clinic. How can you call it a hospital when it only has 50 beds? When you get your bill from Dean after you get medflighted, then compare rates. They will have to medflight anything big to Madison because they are working on too small of a scale. I would rather stay in Janesville where you are close to family and friends. Mercy is a top notch hospital and Janesville should be very proud to have them.

If you don't think Dean is in for the money, you are badly mistaken. This new hospital is only 30 beds, if you have anything big you will be going to Madison. Half or more in this town no longer have insurance, we will have two hospitals in Janesville, new one in Edgerton and then down the road is Beloit, someone will go out of business but it won't be Mercy. I like to stay in Janesville for my care and they have been nothing but nice to me. Dean will raise their prices too so they can pay for a very small hospital.

I feel sorry for the kids to have to live with a unstable Mother who should be setting an example for them instead of acting NUTS.
