On Wisconsin governor signs sick leave bill

Posted on May 5 at 10:35 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

It's truly alarming to me to see how many people are ridiculing those of us who question a leader whose primary method of financial reform is to strip rights away from American workers. True, we need taxes to be at a sustainable level, but making life financially impossible for many of the families in Wisconsin is NOT the way to do it. The part that people like doc0430 seem to be getting confused on is that it is not that people don't want to work, it's that they want their rights protected, and they have logical reasons for this desire that are quickly written off as childish by people like doc. The changes that are being made threaten to take money out of the hands of the consumer, who then limits spending, and if you know anything at all about financial history, you know that this is what started the domino effect that led to the Great Depression. To those people who already live under financially difficult circumstances, this is alarming, and to those of us who don't believe in allowing wealthy corporations to dictate our working conditions and earning capability, it is an atrocity and a giant leap backwards. And, I will add, to compare Walker to corrupt leaders like Mussolini is in no way disrepectful to those who suffered under their rule...it is making sure that their suffering was not completely in vain, because we learned from it and will not let it happen again. Gov. Walker's actions, from the viewpoint of thousands of Americans, echo those of corrupt political and military leaders of the past. For anyone to fault a person for questioning these actions is to blindly ignore the atrocities of the past. That, to me, is disrespectful to those who suffered as the result of political corruption.

Joker, go play your jokes someplace else. I'm a proud, NON-WHITE CITIZEN of JANESVILLE and I aim to see equality in Janesville, and against people like you. Donate some of your well earned dollars and go to bed, you seemingly over educated, rich fool! And that's assuming that you are what you claim to be...and I doubt it! You're probably just some dude who has delusions about yourself who can't prove me wrong.

So Joker, I missed it, how do you know that I'm white...how do you know I'm NOT a member of the city council and how do you contribute to the community? AGAIN I challenge you, you cockroach!

On Janesville would give property owners two days to shovel

Talk about a COMPREHENSIVE DEFICIENCY..."it cost money to have the city remove snow...". You sound like a friggin' caveman, dude! "Me PBRMan, it cost money, me club you if you lazy!" Sheesh! You should try out for a Geico commercial. "It so easy to remove snow, even me can do it! It cost money! Save 15 percent on car insurance, it cost money too!"

All of the people who are judging others by callin them lazy can f*** off. I SNOWBLOW MY PROPERTY, but then again I'm not disabled or a parent who works a fulltime job and goes to college while taking care of a family or otherwise unable to take care of the snow in a reasonable manner. Everybody's situation is different. There is really no way you can call another person lazy or anything like that. PBRman, what's your excuse for being an a**hole? Were your parents obese smokers who didn't pay enough attention to you? Or are you just lazy in the mind? Stick it up your ***! Obese smokers...wow, what a jerk! A perfect example of a person who thinks they know everything. And God knows Janesville is FULL of those... so at least your not alone. Or unique.

On Grants dispersed to help homeless

I work closely with several of the agencies named above, and while they are certainly there to help (and are definately forced to be choosy about who they help due to being limited in resources), there are also plenty of people who work in these agencies who are insensitive in the way they deal with people who are seeking their services. Most of them are empathetic and respectful, but some simply aren't, and bad attitudes have no place in the helping field.
