On Voter ID plan is unneeded, expensive, harmful

Posted on January 18 at 7:53 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

This is a fake uproar. If voter fraud was as bad as people are portraying it wouldn't the results have been different in the last election? Fake ID's aren't that hard to get. So one would have to assume that if my intent is to vote illegally, now needing an ID isn't an impediment.

May be corporate appologist is a better name for you but spin you do. You post 48 to my one so spin however you want. Maybe gazette troll is better.
My point was and still is that you are quite adamant in your desire to reduce the deficit. I agree with you on that, I want it reduced also. If you want to reduce the deficit go after the needless wars and trim the defense budget. Go after the big dollars not the pennies. Domestic spending isn't the problem. How many wars are the Chinese in? How many foreign bases do they have? The Chinese are spending their money domestically. They're spending on infrastructure. We can't even maintain what we have let alone build new.
Like it or not, taxes and regulation are what keeps capitalism in check. The revenue generated is what gave us what we have and what we could do. If you loosen regulation and lower taxes all you create is bubbles that eventually burst. Sound familiar?
Now to answer your red herrings- Yeah I know a little bit about the defense procurement. I actually made some money working for a company that did development for that system as well as the f-22 before I went agrarian. The reason they can't kill those systems is because they spread the industries over multiple congressional districts to garner votes. As for the McCain ammendment, my two senators voted for the ammendment. I doubt Johnson will have as good a voting record as Feingold did on these bills, time will tell. Here's one for you. Why didn't the republicans filibuster that expenditure? They filibustered emergency unemployment and the 9-11 responders but not the C-17. Corporate Apologists.
As I've stated before, if you're so opposed to government spending. Give up those deficit dollars you receive in pension and your available government healthcare. It's only fair. It's what you say everyone else must do.

That's your spin raf. Of course you like to overlook the cold war and the military industrial complex that seems to have gotten a lot of those tax dollars. Reagan's tax cuts are actually the better start date for those increased deficits. Having two wars going on with people that didn't do anything to us seems like wasted money in my eyes also. If you were as adamant against those wars and those budgeted defense items as you are against taxes you might have some credibility.

You no taxers make me laugh. Tax them and pass it on. We're going to pick up the tab anyway. When the taxs were more regressive, like it or not, we were a better and more prosperous country.

RAF- That was the responce I expected. That is the same answer that every relative, friend and other farmers gives when I pose that question. "I pay more in taxes so its ok". However you rationalize in your brain I don't care. Your still at the trough and telling others they should learn to live with out the feds entitlements. You talk the talk but thats about it. The feds been taking care of you pretty much all your life, that is if you really were in the military.
Unless everyone gives up some till it hurts we'll never get to a budget that you will like. Like I said it's ok if your a republican.

RAF, your always writing that if a person wants higher tax rates for certain income brackets that they are free to give more of there money to the government. Your other repeated comment is "its the spending, we have to cut entitlements". When are you going to step up to the plate and do your part. Give up your share of government entitlements. Don't hide behind the "I pay more in taxes than I get back so its okay" statement. Everyone is going to have to do there part, why don't you do yours. What your really saying is "Its okay because I'm a republican"
