On Party keeping inaugural donations

This tells you all you need to know about the republic party. Getting re-elected is more important than helping out those in need. Children and poor people don't contribute to your coffers, so what good are they?

Most of the damage from this storm occurred in northern Illinois. Why doesn't your paper cover this? You'll go all the way to Superior but won't travel 15 miles south to cover a story. I thought you were trying to be a "local" newspaper. I assume your crew must have had trouble obtaining passports to cross the border.

The good news is that since Rockford is so close, we can drive down there to hop a train to St. Louis or wherever. Crossing the state line will be like going from the 19th into the 21st century.

On When all is said and done, how will you remember Brett Favre?

"Should have retired with his legacy in tact"? He had an MVP caliber season last year. Packer fans are just upset that he had the gall to play anywhere but GB. The problem is, he WAS forced out of GB and he wanted to continue to play. Whether or not it was the correct move can be debated, but both he and the Packers handled the whole divorce poorly.

As far as the sexting goes, if he actually did send pictures of his groin (which he denies) to a woman or several women, obviously it is in poor taste. I don't believe it illegal however. Conversely, players like Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlesberger have committed real sexual assaults. If you want to hate on a football player, choose one of them.

Favre is no angel but he's also not the devil that many make him out to be. I am grateful that he spent most of his career in GB and will remember him for what he is, one of the greatest Packers ever.

Why not start selling beer at the Boys and Girls Club too? "You can't have any fun without alcohol." That seems to be the message in this sad little town. Might as well drill that message into their heads at a very young age.

How about thanking him for all the great years that he gave the team and the Packer fans with a classy tribute of some kind. Sometimes I'm ashamed of being a Packer fan. It's pure idiocy to act like buffoons when he comes back. He has every right to play anywhere he wants to if the Packers don't want him. Let's not act like hicktown, USA.

On PACKing up

I think it's very difficult to compare quarterbacks from different generations. Therefore I'll just say Favre is among the best ever. I assume you rate Bradshaw so highly because of his championships. If that's the case, where's Bart Starr? I believe he won 5 titles. His passing numbers don't compare to todays qb's but it was a different game back then. Bradshaw's numbers don't stack up so well either but he was a great team leader.

Also, I believe Roger Staubach and Dan Fouts compare favorably to any of the names on your list.
