On JEA asks its members to express displeasure

justsome1here: When students lack the motivation, desire, willingness to succeed that is a not the teachers fault. When students stay out late, show up to school late, don't complete homework, that is not the teachers fault. When students behave inappropriately, dress inappropriately and are disrespectul that is not the teachers fault. The ground work for a childs education begins at home. It is time for parents to wake up. Most children are a pleasure to have in class. Many can be a challange! As the old saying goes, The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far from the Tree!

On Budgets, cuts on school candidates' agendas

Are students also going to have access to computers in every class. The idea behind eletronic media for the hundreds of textbooks will not be feasible if students do not have access to a computer. The current computer lab space is not adequate to support the notion of having CD/DVD's replace existing textbooks. Rocksolid as a school board member must have very big ideas in how to fund this concept. Maybe if teachers pay 10% of their health insurance premiums they can take that money plus the surplus to fund it. I am sure that would be more than enough to take care of the bill. Also Rocksolid can you please explain to me how the school district of Janesville is going to make budget cuts when they just gave 1.5 million back to the tax payers. Should that money not be used to fund the 4K program and also be used to settle a huge contract dispute between the JEA and the school board? Your idea may sound wonderful to someone who is not an educator. It may even sound logical. The problem is that the concept you are trying to initiate is coming from someone who owns a cell phone company and is not in a classroom everyday. Rocksolid I have an idea as well, how about we have students read their textbooks from their cell phones. I am sure you would appreciate the economic boost!

nascarfan: You work in a school district and make 35000 a year. As stated same education level. Look at the difference in salaries. How many weeks vacation do you get? How many sick days if needed? How many personal days if needed? Teachers would be happy to make the kind of money you do if it meant working a few extra weeks.

Are you kidding me? Janesville would be a hicktown? I'm pretty sure if you drive around town you will find many vehicles with confederate flags and bumper stickers that read "git ur done"
Janesville is a hicktown!

The JSD uses Midwest Security/Alliance Health Care Network. It is a self-funded insurance.

pamdogbr549:
Usually people with no insurance have little or no education. People attend 4 year Universities and Graduate programs so they can find a job that offers healthcare and has decent benefits. Start taking some of these benefits from educators and you will see a rapid decline in the teaching profession.

Is your husband a janitor or maintenance employee with the school district?

Why save face, it does not matter what teachers do in the first place. They will be ridiculed no matter what happens!
