On Milton school staff morale at ‘all-time low’ over plan, teachers say

Posted on May 18 at 9:01 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Elementary ed university Whitewater enrollment is at a record high. So, still plenty of h.s. grads choosing teacher degrees. Still plenty of young adults that want the salary and benefits at public schools. Still plenty that want to teach children how to conform, learn how to bow to authority, and be unquestioning line and cubicle workers for the 1% corporate masters. It's a great mystery why the liberal teachers' union works to maintain an education system designed by capitalist pigs Carnegie and Rockefeller.

On Changes to add academic rigor in high schools would begin in 2014

From a discussion on public high school teachers:
"In high school, I had a history teacher who would distribute packets at the beginning of the class period and then leave the room for the duration of the class, returning only a few minutes before the bell.
.
The most common reason I received detentions was for "not doing my work" — I would complete the assigned packet, place it in the teacher's inbox, and read a book for the rest of the class period. He would see me not working on the completed packet and write the detention slip — after putting my completed packet in the shredder.
.
He doesn't teach any more… he heads the teachers union."

On Rock County program setting the pace to preserve farmland

partarican1, you're incorrect. The county ATC funds only account for 17% of the PACE funding. Federal taxpayers, through the Farm and Land Protection program, pay for 50% of the PACE funding. And landowners get reduced taxes in exchange for their land to pay for the rest. And, the state won't need to adhere to PACE easements. When they want a new road built, they will still take the farmland for road construction.

Don't fear terrorism. You're eight times more likely to be killed by a police officer than a terrorist.

On State lawmakers must get to work on creating jobs

She says she is for jobs, but she doesn't have a single idea on her campaign website on how to bring more jobs to WI. Quite the opposite, she has lots of ideas on how to spend more taxpayer money, driving job creators from Wisconsin.

On Janesville School District’s WKCE scores exceed state averages

Fewer than 50% of the public school students in the district are proficient in reading, and Schulte says we should be "proud" ? Does she think that half should be ditch diggers ? Good teachers are working in a broken system.

On Setting the PACE to protect farmland

Taxpayers funding a program so that a few other taxpayers (taxpayer subsidized crop farmers) can pay less taxes. Isn't this ultimately more of the same corporate welfare problem caused by government interference ?
