I understand SarahB's perspective! Please, just be careful! Are you able to spend the night up there to avoid too much trouble?

frogger, I don't know the person's story, but have you thought that maybe the person you refer to didn't have anyone they knew available to take them? To you and me, $1 doesn't seem to be a lot. How do you know whether this person has to live on less than $1 a day? We don't know people's stories, so how can judgement be passed on them? How does it make you feel when people reading your comments (this story or others) judge you in a negative way?

It gets me choked up when people see the glee in a kid's eyes when they receive a random act of kindness. Most kids do pay it forward because they know how it feels to receive the kindness. As adults, we have A LOT to learn from kids!!

Okay, so there may be some kids that "choose" to run away and be homeless. Yet, many of these kids are "throw aways" because the parents aren't able to support themselves and their kids for whatever reason.
Aren't our kids, the future generations, worth a few cents a day? Heck, they'll (hopefully) be supporting us when we're older and not able to help ourselves.

There ARE ways to help, we just need to search them out. Prayers are a first and immediate thing we can do. Call up some agencies to find out what can be done to help.

melstew... just a thought... it sounds like there is the expectation for an organization to take care of people when it sounds like there are many people who don't want to extend the energy to advocate for themselves when it comes to getting health care help. It also sounds like there are ungrateful people who don't realize they should really be grateful there is even a HealthNet. Are you aware of what their caseload is? Are you aware of what is done there is a single day? Do you realize that most of HealthNet is volunteerism? Just some thoughts.

I was asking the same thing as I've been in contact with Traci about a couple things, no mention of her leaving.
