People you have no concept what it is like to run in to a building when every one is running out. So until you do the job Shut up about it. First off most rural departments have the same equipment because it is what is necessary to have. We usually don't have multiples of the same trucks because we don't have the money for it. Second most departments in our area keep their trucks for 20 plus years. Third a lot of departments have thought about doing this but it isn't practical in real life due to lack of personnel, distance to the call, and the strain it would put on resources. Most of us are volunteers so guess what we don't get paid for risking our safety. So maybe you should support the people who get up at 3 am when a drunk driver crashes and hits a another car, or who come running when your house goes up in smoke. And yes I am a Firefighter.

Its time to stop acting like whiny school kids and grow up. enough with the bs from both sides, whats best for all of us is finding a middle ground.

Perhaps the village board should think about replacing the fire station since it doesn't meet current codes let alone the equipment that hasn't been updated in years. The fd has always made due with very little and done a great job doing it. Maybe they should scale back a bit and support the fd before one day they don't show up when you need them most!!!!!

I love this quote “It is going to put a certain level of stress on every interaction a police officer has with the public,” Spoden said. “It is going to put a certain degree of uncertainty in every call that officer takes. We’ll have to assume that everyone we come in contact with is carrying a firearm.” If any police officer doesn't have this mindset people are carrying already he or she most likely will end up being hurt or worse because they weren't prepared.
