On ANGI to move to Janesville

Posted on February 21 at 7:27 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

All right - we have a company that stays in Rock County - commits to increasing jobs in the market - and will have a positive impact on the local economy because they will provide related jobs (logistics, services, etc.). It's hard to believe anyone can find any negative in this situation! Come on Rock County - let's rejoice with every win like this one and recognize that a lot of people are working really hard behind the scenes to bring business to Rock County. Congrats to ANGI, City of Janesville, the realtors and Rock County 5.0! Another nice success!!!

On Wheel tax included in Janesville budget

Posted on November 29 at 10:29 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Do any of you who are posting read what you write? Seriously, we have one of the best run and most efficient cities in Wisconsin. We have a city staff that is devoted to making this community a good place to live. And we have amenities to be proud of. The comments made by council are right on; we need to plan for major repairs to the infrastructure which was developed twenty plus years ago. (And no - I don't work for the city)
It's really sad to read so many negative comments. And it really doesn't matter what the topic; the same writers are consistently negative. How sad to go through life being so angry at life.
And for those who feel $10 wheel tax is too much, how much do you pay for a pack of cigarettes or a case of beer? Hmmm.

On Controversy surrounds Walker dinner visit

WOW - it's hard to believe that you are all planning to boycott businesses who have repeatedly given to non-profits, charities, school events, etc. in Janesville. Go down this list - all of these conpanies are the ones that you go to for dollars and gift certificates when you have a fundraiser. They are also the ones who write very large checks to support important non-profits such as Hospice Care, House of Mercy, Salvation Army, etc. etc.
I get that you are upset with the direction that Madison has gone. But boycotting a business in our community and it's employees is very misguided.
These people are your neighbors, your friends, etc. They work hard every day - just like you. They give of their time and talents to make this city a better city for all of us.
Think before you react.
I looked through hundreds of these blogs in the last few weeks. I have rarely found a "suggestion" as to how to solve the budget issues. Put your time and energy into "solving" the issues - not complaining - not calling names.
Get together the night of the Forward Janesville dinner - instead of protesting - and form a group that offers suggestions to fix the school budget crisis in Janesville. You would earn my respect immediately if you did that.

On Saturday's protest crowd estimated at more than 70,000

Kay13 - think about what you are saying. The Dems did not negotiate the health care reform or their entire spending platform.
I'm having a very hard time holding up any of the 14 as exemplary members of our society. Again - sad statement that they can't stand up and discuss - they have to run and try to pull stunts behind the scenes to break the vote - and they have to ship in people from all over the country to intimidate other WI community members.
Like I said - the majority spoke - the majority were tired of the past State leadership of the Dem party and now we will finally fix the mess that was created in the past few years.

Wouldn't it be amazing if the 70000 people each gave 2 hours of their time to a charity or a nonprofit and actually did something good for Wisconsin?
Wisconsin voted - we elected Walker and the Republican majority.
Over the last 4 years, when the Dems were in control, we accepted the decisions they made - they had the majority. We didn't run away to Illinois because we weren't happy. WE stood by and worked through the decisions that were made.
Frankly, I'm appalled at the way the Senators are behaving. It's so sad to see grown men and women running from responsibility.

On Wisconsin Democrats could stay away for weeks

I'm amazed by the rudeness of the Democrats who are posting on these sites. Besides the bad spelling and bad grammar, most are very disrespectful of the office of the governor as well as of our elected officials. How sad that the Dem Senators chose to run away to IL rather than manning up and facing the true reality --- They were voted out in November because the majority were unhappy with their platform and because many members of their party did some truly unethical things in the year preceding (Sheridan, Decker). How sad.
We all need to rally behind our Governor and support his plan. It makes sense to anyone with a strong business background.

On Janesville schools closed Friday

Here are the facts:
-Teachers in Janesville have called in "sick". They clearly aren't sick. They have cleared taught our students it's OK to lie when you don't want to do something. Pathetic example of who we don't want our children to be. If any of our employees "lied", they'd be terminated immediately.
-Tim Cullen chose to leave WI to avoid voting. He is paid by us to represent us. Bad decision - indicative of the character of the Democratic party right now. It started in the Sheridan era with lies and mis-truths - we've now stooped to a new level. I'm disgusted.
-Email Tim Cullen at Sen.Cullen@legis.wisconsin.gov
and tell him to get to Madison.
-Email your Representatives who are doing a great job and thank them!

As "transparent" as we are in the school district, let's POST the names of all of the teachers who have called in "sick" in the paper. And - tell me - do they honestly say "I'm sick" and lie to their supervisor? Or do they honestly say - I'm going to skip work and do my hour of protesting and then go out to lunch with my friends.
Come on Janesville Teachers - aren't you above this? Do you honestly believe that your good students will respect you after this?
-Post the names of the teachers who called in sick
-Make sure that the teachers who called in are docked
-AND GO TO THE CAPITOL and take pictures of those teachers who are "sick" and protesting. Then terminate them for lying about their illness.
