We got a 1% raise on our contract this year and haven't even had a cost of living raise since I've been there "12 years." Compared to other county we make far less then Dane, Milwaukee. Heck even the City of Janesville Employees make far more then we do so don't start on wages my friend. These towns expect the county to employ and pay a person year around and then they get the benefit of that said employee when there needed most. Sorry but ether you're on or off. Can't have your cake and eat it to. Best of luck to the towns that left but when you get a real bad snow fall good luck keeping your roads open. I feel sorry for the residents living there.

Who do you think she'll point the finger of blame to? The zoo, herself, alcohol or Walmart. We need warring labels on beer bottles. Caution this product may cause depth perception when feeding bears. Use caution feeding wild animals until you know how this medication will affect you.

I love how people say the gateway drug is pot. WRONG!!!!! The first drug for me was caffeine then tobacco and booze taken from my parents. How about all the heavy narcotic pain pills in the bathroom cabinet? I don’t use but can’t see any reason why it should not be allowed to help people. I would much rather share the road with someone that is stoned then drunk any day. My one question is how do I become a part on the “joint health committee” lol

Glad this man is gone; He was imposable to deal with. John implemented a health wellness plan that requires you to have a blood test and punishes people who are unhealthy with higher insurance costs. We have been working on 2006 wages until last month. We only have had a few meetings. He did this purposely to ware us down. We can’t strike so what recourse does he have to work with us. The karma gods are vengeful and I hope there not done with him yet.

With budget cuts don’t count on any improvements soon. The stimulus money is for new construction, yet once again the state doesn’t put enough towards upkeep. All the County employees that have state sections are not going to mow until fall, pothole patch one day a week, trash pick one day. That’s it, call the state and complain. Our roads need more attention then 3 days a week!

First off Center was plowed by the county in 2000. Shortly after that they wanted to pick and chose when they wanted a man in there. This means the county puts a floater in there or a driver when he gets his section done. They have never been in that section before and it takes twice as long to do the same work. The way its supposed to work is a township gets 1 patrol worker for there township year around. In the summer the patrol worker dose tree trimming pot hole patching ECT. These town want to save money by not having a man there in the summer. This causes a shortness in help in the storm. We have had a lot of people leave the county this year and most of the guys have gotten new sections. This is only the 2nd storm and they are still learning there roads. I love how the ignorant people on here can pass judgment and they barley knows what a plow truck looks like. These are the same people who are right on the tail of our trucks trying to pass unsafely. We make about 19 an hour and work ungodly hours in some of the worse driving conditions there are. A postal worker makes that and doesn't have to contend with the licensing or the regulation we do having a CDL I took a pay cut going to work for the county from the privet sector but made it back with the retirement and vacation. Walker wants to take this so if that happens Its time to go back I guess. I've had to hear people cry why it took so long to get to there road in the country when I live in the city have worked 16-20 hours had all my roads opened up and drive home to my subdivision and the city hasn't even been there. YOU LIVE IN THE COUNTRY. Try moving to the city and you'll get no better service. City employees get about 21 an hour better health and retirement. Dane county gets about 22 an hour. I don't think we're over paid. We have had to fight tooth and nail just to keep what we have. I'm shocked we have any descent employees left. Anyone there who can retire has like rats jumping off a sinking ship.
