beeferer - It doesn't have to be the official railroad gates that are triggered by trains, but a button operated version that has flashing LEDs. I can't imagine that this couldn't be purchased for less than $240,000.

I drive by this area a few times a day. What is dangerous is that cars stop when people are standing there and tell them to cross, but no one pushes the button to start the flasing lights. Other cars, not seeing flasing lights and maybe comming from a different direction, do not realise that people are crossing and may not stop. Yes, they could be more alert, but people need to only stop when someone pushes the button, and not before.
I would suggest putting in bars that come down like at a railroad crossing. This would be much cheaper than what has been suggested. I would agree with the previous poster that we do not need anymore roundabouts.

Simon, That is a big statement. Can you be more specific on where this is happening and how do you know that it is happening?

Did you guys miss this: "The district has the resources to cover the overage. The money would come out of the Fund 10 balance. The fund balance, as it is known, is an undesignated reserve. The fund balance had more than $30.5 million in it when it was last audited one year ago."

Our dogs always have Frontline, never leave Janesville, and one ended up with Lymes. We also found two deer ticks IN our house this year, and we live in town.

C'mon. Just because there were a handful of nuts 20 years ago doesn't mean that is the way Janesville is.

It's Ronald Shuler not Richard Shuler. The guy teaches in this town for 30 years and we cannot even get his name right.
