This wasn't mentioned when these individuals ran & if it would have been the results would be different today. Hence the reason for my question.

FYI I work in technology both galaxy s3 & iphone 5 had it disabled in settings with all sounds turned off and this notification still sounded! Regardless how your settings are or if ringer is off/on one should not have to tolerate this especially when it could have been sent during normal hours. Can you imagine if it was 1982 & the National Weather Service called your home phone at 4 in the morning to tell you about a snowstorm which could or could not have hit us 24 hours prior to the possibility!? My God the things people are ok with these days! Oh I know it's not 1982 but at least when you turned your ringer off the darn thing didn't still ring. I've seen these phones do many weird things including turn themselves on. There are applications out there that give hackers the ability to remote control these phones. It's bad enough we have to concern ourselves with this stuff but now we have the NWS to worry about as well (who are usually wrong).

I don't like it! It woke us up and kept my wife from getting back to sleep. She was dead tired the whole day and her clinic got really behind. On occasion smartphones malfunction and don't do as instructed. This alert came through a whole day before any precipitation very early in the morning. This is Wisconsin we get snow here we always have many of you should be used to this. I don't consider this storm serious enough that you need to alert someone's phone this early in the morning this soon before a storm! If people want alerts there are apps you can download. Please don't impose a system on people who have difficult hours and are on call all the time!

Panera Bread might consider that idea if its audience wasn't predominantly truck drivers. It also helps if your city council knows basic math.

I'll find the link w/bbc which talks about how they're making their way from their to Afghanistan. This upsets me we're so broke but yet we give all this money to other countries. Stop the spending already!!

Besides the voting population isn't fully aware of all the specifics which come with a candidate. I'd be willing to bet if signatures were collected from the entire voting population on this particular subject it would reflect disapproval.
