i agree with the "dumps" of salt...every time they turn a corner it spills out of the truck and then over plowing on some streets and none on others

have you ever seen what goes to the dump????It's awful, so much of it could be used, if only a place to keep it and being allowed to take it, they frown on that at the dump...i was there one time and there was a brand new storm and screen door, very nice wrought iron, contractor was done with the job...what a shame, we could probably clothe, feed and repair houses for everyone that needed anything from what is being thrown away, if it's too much bother to sort, i'd help!!!!!! the other one i like is the locks on food dumpsters..cases of mayo cause one jar broke...comon...i know of a pizza place that sets out closing time extras for free, they are not suppose to so i can't divulge, but koodos to them

I agree with the racial differences between the cities, but there has also been economic factors, especially due to GM. I always say, give a redneck money...most GMers are not educated but have enough money to buy huge suv's and trucks to have their way or run ya over. I have a friend whose son called restaurants surrounding the mall, all were hiring until he showed up to apply, world buffet even snatched the app out of his hand after being told there was a position, the rest either said no positions or fill out the app and we'll call you when we have something. On the other hand, she has mixed kids and can't ask a black woman to do her daughters hair cause that is considered racist?
I've lived in many other places, it seems as if the south actually has fewer problems with racial acceptance than here in the north.
I have found that Beloit is a more friendly place than Janesville, but the schools are such a breeding place for racism in both places. I just would like to see the black people get the chips off their shoulders and stop blaming the white people for their problems and I'd like to see the white people, in Janesville in particular, get their asses off their shoulders and quit thinking their better than everyone according to their income and color. As far as economics, Thompson experimented with Beloit and it was in bad shape when Clinton signed off welfare, so it just seemed to die, but it has come back and I think the people there are more responsible and happier for it, the old system was covering people who really needed other help. Take care of racial ills at a developmental level and both places would be better off. It's not ignoring racial differences that works, it's acknowledging that there are differences, accepting them and respecting them. Wait til that unemployment runs out in Janesville, maybe after a few years of lean times people won't be so quick to sit in judgment.

it's always damned if ya do, damn if ya don't in this town, everyone wants minorities to get jobs, but not at their business, they listened to the best radio station jnsvl had, but wouldn't support it, now ya don't want kids to be encouraged, but ya don't want them to deal drugs to support their families cause ya won't hire them. just what are people to do? ya all want to bring up race as an issue and it is, it's high time ya realize we are not all the same, some of these kids haven't had a fighting chance since they were born. let people live, be good people, look into these kids face and see how bitter they are cause they need the examples these people set for them, they need to know it is possible for them, they don't have to fight and be on the street and feel bad about themselves, you don't understand just how they are influenced out there to take the easy way out that usually ends them in jail. they come from a different environment than you and your children, let them learn, there is enough for them too. if we don't support each other we are a blight on ourselves. find out where they come from and if you don't care about them at least don't bring them down. there's just too much hatred here. and stop bringing down history, listen to the message, do you know what our white forefathers did, omg, talk about the pot callin the kettle black!

smacks of the jail moving prisoners into one unit for the media to prove overcrowding...the more salt and the more runs over well used roads the more proof of more money needed
