On Cullen to make announcement about governor’s race

Posted on February 1 at 2:18 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

He's NOT running. He doesn't have the money to run. Doesn't surprise me. Can't manage to control his own money. Sure don't want him having control over the whole state.

On Janesville declares snow emergency--really

Posted on January 20 at 3:12 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Does anyone know what the rules are during a snow emergency for ATV's, etc. on city streets? If you're out plowing snow and have a yellow safety light flashing, I assume it's ok, right?

On Daytime burglaries scaring residents

Creature, you go ahead and wait around to see what happens with an intruder in your house. Maybe they will harm you, maybe they won't. But if they do, after it's too late, you can look back and wish you had protected yourself.

Me... an intruder won't get the opportunity to hurt me or my family. That's not a risk I'm willing to wait around for. He/she should have thought about that before unlawfully entering my home.

On Wis. ban on texting while driving starts Dec. 1

NCC1701 - I can understand your intent, however, auto manufacturers and additional electronics have made automobile phone use much safer by integrating bluetooth technology (hands free calling) into a lot of newer vehicles. Aftermarket car radios have also been adding this technology. I use this on a regular basis and find it no more distracting than a conversation with another passenger in the car, yet I'm still able to have both hands on the wheel and pay attention to the road.

On $40 garbage fee on council agenda

Honestly, I would prefer to get the $40 increase on my property taxes also. HOWEVER, by doing this as a fee, it should provide residents the option to use the service or not. If I don't want to pay the $40, then I can manage getting rid of my garbage on my own. Let's hope that's the case. Quite honestly, I don't have enough garbage to be picked up EVERY week. I could literally drop mine off monthly.

On ABC Supply makes major purchase

I find it quite amusing when people make comments about people and/or companies when they don't have a single clue how they operate.

Fact is, ABC Supply, on multiple occasions, has been named one of the best companies in America to work for. They've brought some of the companies they 'swallow up' out of debt and rebuilt them into successful companies, keeping peoples jobs and building more.

Tax-break donations? Seriously? As if those donations aren't needed. Does anyone thing a bunch of private citizens can shell out that kind of funding? Maybe 'Dini' should give up his tax write-offs as a donation to someone. Tax breaks or not, they are an excellent model of how a large corporation should be operating.

On Truck hits woman on Highway 51

That's too bad this happened. Although, I'm glad to see that she decided to walk wherever she was going instead of driving.

On City cites owner of historic Janesville home

In the end, does it really matter? I think we all have more important things in our life to worry about than what Brad is doing with the building. My opinion, just a bunch of control freaks. Leave the guy be and see how the building turns out. I'm pretty sure no one will be disappointed when it's done.
