On Red kettle campaign falls short

I have walked past a few bell ringers this season. I choose to donate my money elsewhere. I will say though that my husband and I pay for most everything with our debit cards and I often don't have cash on me. Perhaps the Salvation Army can come up with an alternative for the bell ringers?

On Gay marriages expected to begin in Iowa April 24

Why is there even an argument of religion here? It doesn't matter what your religious beliefs are. They are not asking to marry in your church. They are asking for the same rights that everyone else is granted. Seperation of Church and State. Not everyone believes in your religion so how can laws be put forth in the name of religion? You can give the same old line about 'the sanctity of marriage' until you're blue in the face, but marriage is no longer sacred to most people. Why is it okay for celebritities to run off to Vegas and elope only to file for divorce several days later? It's okay for two people to get married just as long as they are of the opposite sex? There are a lot of same sex marriages that are a lot more stable than many same sex marriages I know. People need to mind their own business. Does it really impact your life if two men or two women commit their lives to each other? How can that possibly be a bad thing?!

While I agree that she did something wrong by giving him the methadone, he did take it of his own free will.

On Group looks for ways to educate blacks on breastfeeding

As a first time mother of a 4 month old some of these posts are unbelievable to me. I tried and tried and tried to bf my daughter. I lasted 6 weeks. I tried everything with the help of a lactation consultant and my Dr. I had the support of my husband as well. I love my daughter and in the end feeding her formula was the best decision I could make for her. I did not produce enough milk to satisfy her hunger even with the help of herbal supplements and pumping. To make mothers feel guilty for not bf is ridiculous. And to tell me that I am somehow less of a mother to my daughter because I made the desicion to not bf is disguisting. Shouldn't we as mothers be joining together to offer support instead of acting holier than thou? Shame on all of you who are trying to make women feel guilty for their decision to formula feed!

On Former Walworth County jail inmate claims he was sexually assaulted by officer

Does anyone else find it unbelievable that a man who was in jail for sexual assualt of a child is suing for emotional and physical damages for being assaulted himself? If he wins maybe he should give the money to his victim.

Regardless of whether or not the tip the police received was a hoax there was child abuse on a grand scale. I agree with taking the children away from there parents. How will they ever find out what really goes on from these kids if they are with there parents who are coaxing them what to say. You've seen the mothers in tv interviews. Everything they say is scripted. If a child anywhere else were removed from her/his parent that has been abusing them there would be no outcry whatsoever. Leave religion out of it. This is about nothing more than a bunch of perverts abusing young girls.
