I'm all for anything that makes our kids want an education. I know nothing about DDHS, but this alternative program sounds like it helps kids at risk who really want a chance in life. Good job!! The kids who graduate should be proud of themselves.

It unduy penalizes the poor drunk driver. Awww poor babies. Please allow me to give you hugs right before I smack you on the head. My guess is, the people who are maimed or die because of a drunk driver AREN'T unduly penalized???? <sigh> The world is so upside down.

I went to the ER late one Saturday night. Walked in and told them I was passing a kidney stone and needed some pain help. The nurse was very nice but did manage to mess up. I really was ok with the ordeal, until the $5,000.00 bill arived the next month. WHAT??? I told them what was wrong. I understand they still have to do tests, but 5 grand is waaaay to much for what was done for me. Maybe the price will be just as outrageous (spell cop?) at Dean but I am sure willing to give them a chance.

I visited that home years ago. What was creepy was they had a brick building that was supposedly used to keep the mafia guys in before the threw them in the lake (flowage?) and the story goes, you could hear the screams at night. It was quite a house tho.

Thanks for your thoughts Greg. I was not fortunate enough to know John. May you find peace in losing a friend, but know how fortunate you were to have him even for a short period. From what I *read* he touched my heart, I can't imagine the pain that family and friends are feeling.
