On Children behaving badly: Has it gotten worse?

This is a problem and I hate to say it but it does not get better. My daughter was choked by another student in first grade during class time. Tell me how the aide and the teacher miss it. This kid came after my daughter the whole year. Worked with the principal and emailed Schulte. Schulte did nothing and responded only one time to me. I used the student handbook as my guide and was told by her that its not bullying or harassment at this age! Really, what is it then?? She told me she would talk to the principal and get back to me...no response. This child left marks on my daughters neck! Parents need to step up and it doesn't matter if your struggling, most of us are. Its our responsibility to know if something is not right with our child(ren). You dont need to be educated in order to determine this either. I think we all know proper behavior regardless of our social status or level of education.

I agree with Northman to a point. There are kids that need to be pushed outside. I have an 8 and 6 year old and they are outside any chance they get. They are not sick very often. My 6 year old however can not have any food or drink that has the artificial color Red 40. His behavior and energy goes off the charts and he has enough going on without that being added into the mix.

To many think they can leave at their usual time and drive the same way as if its sunny and make it to their destination. Take your time. I would rather take the ding on my perfect attendance for work than be in an accident...not worth it. If somebody hits me you better hope I cant get out of my vehichle because I will not be a happy camper. I drive cautious for a reason so back off of me.

My SUV is AWD and 4 wheel drive. Im with Sigma buy your vehichle to go with the state you live in. No I dont think I can drive all crazy because of these options. I take my time still and people whip past me on interstate like nothing. If you go in a ditch then you are driving like crap and should not be on the road. I keep my distance and do not get up on anybodys rear end. Let up off the gas and readjust my speed. I dont do erratic lane changes. That person in front is afraid and you are only going to spook them. That crap just is not right.
On Janesville residents ask city to give them a break

Trust me Marge when I say Gorski is talking all and not just union members. Go to a meeting and voice your opinion. When you have a lot of thoughts running thru your mind, and you hit center stage you say what you remember. Give the guy a break. The point he is trying to make is that it can not keep falling back on taxpayers. If you only make so much a year and do not get a raise then increases on property taxes and whatever else will break you. We do not get extra money handed to us to say, hey sorry your hours were cut and you had a loss of income. Why do the taxpayers need to keep giving things up just to fight for survival?
On Childhood immunizations: Safe or not?

I am with Joym. What makes 1 child different from the other? Both my kids have the same dad. The only thing different was 1 was a girl and 1 boy. So why and how did my boy get Sensory Processing Dissorder? I look back all the time and wonder what I did different with each one. The answer was nothing. I do think like any other drugs that shots have side affects but not sure that it is linked. I just dont know. Besides any parent that has a child who is autistic, aspergers or sensory does a lot of research as to why because nobody can give the answer. I personally did research only to find speculation and not enough solid information. Very sad and to many people who just dont understand what we parents go thru.

I have to say that I am on the fence. My oldest received scheduled shots and is fine. My now 6 year old son received scheduled shots and by 3 he was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder, which is associated with autism. The reason for being on the fence is I knew in my heart that he was going to be sick during the pregnancy. Which was normal and showed no signs, but I knew. For me its hard to make the connection to the shots. I do however refuse the flu shot for the kids and myself. I believe to a point we need to allow our bodies to fight the sickness without the aid of meds and shots.

There is no easy answer. Raising taxes can not be it. There are to many people already at risk of losing there homes. I know many families that have cut back and have given things up. I work in accounting and if the numbers are not close then something is really wrong. There should be a spreadsheet done of all expenses then take money getting received in and go from there. Its not rocket science. You would have a better idea of what needs to be cut. You are not going to be guaranteed the same amount from the state so allow a little breathing room. Things may have to tighten down bad at first but as it gets better then slowly add back in.

This is a bunch of crap. Had I known this was going to happen I never would have fought for over a year to get my house loan modified. I could have just walked away and left it for forclosure. It went down in value to begin with. The city needs to stand back and take a good look at what is really needed and make sacrafices like some of us had to do on a personal level. What a crock. Just keep pushing out the middle class and it will be nothing but people who depend on government assistance for everything. We will be looking like Detroit soon. At this point I think I would rather live in Beloit.

On Who really owns those terraces?
Posted on July 30 at 2:55 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
I have always been told that the city owned it. As much as it pains me to be reponsible for their property, I take better care then what they do. It kills me that they mow the terrace area down Beloit Ave heading towards the 11 bypass and dont pull the weeds that are growing on the top and bottom area of the curb. Really??? Would you handle your own property like that? Irritates the crap out of me.
