biggreendad – since when do you have to fill out an open records request when you want to check maps, statutes, codes, or even reading though material like minutes so you know what you want copies of. Furthermore, I understand that there are massive amounts of public records at the office for anyone that wants copies and since they are readily available why would you need an open records request? You would just look through what you want and pay for copies of the same. Why would you take Regina’s (bigmama101) lead and make unfound accusations? You both sound paranoid and its all about nothing. By the way, it is much better to get the facts first; Connie did work yesterday. Check it out!

Connie did not say Dean “can do anything in that office I can do”. I do believe she recommended that he be made Treasurer upon her retirement and that the village hire an administrator/clerk. You can find relevant information in 2008 April and May minutes. 4/21/08 minutes CMC moved to promote Dean and passed. 5/8/08 minutes dealt with pay raise, six members voted yes, 1 not there. You really do need to check the facts.

I think you meant “good riddance” and maybe, just maybe, she feels the same way about you and a few other people who have called her names, say she has, and is doing dishonest things & even made a threat to kill her. What does she have to gain in all of this mess that DeVoy created for himself?

To criticize Mark and say “he is just like Maltese, can’t do anything on there own”. In both cases they are working under extraordinary conditions and pressure which neither has created. DeVoy is totally responsible for what has happened.

copperguy – I think that the comment posted by hsprdp1117 is valid. Whether the article quoted Danz incorrectly or whether Danz misquoted who requests the hearing does not alter what it really happening. I am sure that the respective attorneys are in the process of working out the details regarding the upcoming hearing. Those details would not be in an article at this stage. When the hearing date is set I’m sure we will see it in announced in the paper. I just wonder if DeVoy will back out of the hearing at the very last minute and leave his supporters hanging? I can’t imagine DeVoy putting himself out there at a public hearing. The records that are now public record are really damning.

Information is valuable and here is some information you might appreciate. I went to the State of Wisconsin web site today. The Village of Darien statistics were a revelation. Maybe it will be a revelation to not only other Darien citizens but also information for our current Board of Trustees.
Voters in Darien 1059 100%
Etten votes 227 21.44%
Metzner votes 114 10.77%
So 32.2% of the village voted, one can assume that 67.80% were satisfied with the way the village is being run or that they don’t care about taxes or DeVoy.
These percentages tell me that the majority of citizens think that things in Darien are A. O. K. Our Board had better wake up and start acting responsibly, 67.80% in the village expect it.
I keep hearing the term “the voters have spoken”. 32.2% of the voters voted because they were voting for or against what was being campaigned for, i.e. cut taxes, cut expenses, reinstate the chief, etc. Consider the 67.80% of eligible voters that didn’t think a change was necessary. The percentage of non-voters is over three times greater than the voters wanting a change. I would say that the silent majority needs consideration.

Hey bigmama101 – you listen to a drunk. Why? Just read the statutes, if a president resigns, the remaining board members vote one of themselves to fill the term; them a new trustee is appointed to fill the trustees unexpired term.

I can’t believe that a professional would involve himself in local politics. A public disclosure of his letter will have to affect his professional stature in all of Walworth County. I wonder if he has given any thought of how the public will review his lack of professionalism after DeVoy’s hearing?
